S1 JASS Group
23 of our S1s have successfully completed the Bronze JASS Award and gained their certificates at our Junior Awards Ceremony today.
Having gained essential first aid skills, pupils chose a Cycle for Scotland challenge in order to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation and the Scarlett Fund. Pupils and teachers cycled for 250km, raising in excess of £1000. We were delighted that Nichola Dougan who runs the Scarlett Fund was able to attend the Awards Ceremony today to present the pupils with their certificates.
Well done to pupils for choosing to take part in this initiative and showing dedication and commitment in completing all objectives. Congratulations on achieving the Bronze JASS award!
Last Day of Term
Arrochar Challenge
On Saturday, Fraser (s6) and Victoria (s5) McKinlay participated in the 3 peak “Challenge Arrochar” to raise money for the Beatson Cancer Research Centre. It was a 11 mile hike covering 6,250 feet which they completed in just under 7 hours. The routes chosen for the event were Ben Narnain, Ben Ime and The Cobbler. They have now raised just under five thousand pounds.
Well done to both pupils.
