IMFC MAIRtrade Fair

All parents and carers are invited to come along to Isobel Mair School and Family Centre’s

MAIRTrade Fair

on

Thursday 19th February.

Come along and support our efforts to become an Eco School – we are well on the way to Green Flag status.

The children from the family centre have been ‘happy hunters’ over the last few days; out and about roaming the grounds of the school to gather a variety of natural resources in preparation for our stall at the fair.

Come along and join us on the day to make you own natural table centrepiece.

Here are some pre made examples – made by Joseph, Alex and Elsie!

book swap

On 19 February, we will be holding MAIRtrade, a fairtrade and eco fair.

One of the stalls at the event will be a book swap, which will help to promote the concept of ‘reuse’.

Have a clear out of your book shelf and for every book your child brings in before 19 February, he/she will receive a token. At MAIRtrade, tokens can be swapped for other childrens’ books.

This is a great way to support reading and to keep our bookshelves fresh.

End of Term Trip

All children from the Cara Playroom are invited on an end of term trip to Lochwinnoch Nature Reserve on Thursday 19th June.

A coach has been booked and paid for from funds raised following our recent Enterprise Event. There is an additional cost of £5.oo per child which covers the entrance fee to the Nature Reserve.

Please collect your child’s consent form from Mrs. Todd on Monday.

Children from Balta, Texa and Lamba will enjoy their trip over the summer playscheme.

Come and help on BIG DAY DAY!

Children attending Isobel Mair Family Centre have access to a variety of outdoor spaces including the large playground with hill and forest area, pirate ship, sensory garden, outdoor atrium and adventure trail.

Children love to play and learn outdoors and the spaces we create and use can help to support children’s play in so many ways…….from helping children to be creative and expressive to helping support problem solving and risk analysis.

Our outdoor area is already really good, however…..we want it to be excellent!

For this to happen we need YOU to help!

Come along to our BIG DIG DAY on Tuesday 17th June.

Bring any unwanted seeds, bulbs, bedding plants or compost, spare fencing, unused patio slabs or gardening tools.

OR…..

Just bring yourself!

The more the merrier…..remember, this is your children’s play space!

Let’s make it the best it can be.

August to October Newsletter plus Additional Information

You should have received a paper copy of our August to October Newsletter plus some additional information outlining holidays for the coming year and an overview of special events taking place at the Family Centre.

If you have not received your copy, please speak to Mrs Quaile or Mrs Todd who will be happy to help. (All newsletters are also available via this website, under the ‘News’ tab.)

Please ensure you return the e-mail tear off slip. This will help us compile an IMFC Mailing List which not only helps with communication, it supports funds by reducing budget spent on paper and ink and supports our Eco Schools Scotland programme by reducing waste.

When returning the slip, please feel free to add as many e-mail addresses as you feel necessary. Perhaps your child’s Grandparents are involved with dropping off and collecting your child from the Family Centre? Perhaps you would like your Childminder to keep abreast of what’s happening at IMFC? Please feel free to add these e-mails….the more the merrier!
