School Transitions

Transitions

The transition process for children heading off to school in August is well underway.

By now, children have all visited their feeder school on at least one occasion and for some children more visits are in the diary.

We have children going to Isobel Mair School, Crookfur Primary, St Cadoc’s Primary, Kirkhill Primary and Mearns Primary this year.

Teachers from some of the schools have dropped in to the Family Centre to say hello and spend a little time with the children.

If you have any queries about transitions to school, please ask Gary.

Let’s Play

Let’s Play Session

I will be running a range of parent workshops over the summer holidays (limited places still available) and on Monday will host a pre-engagement session for interested parents.

The session will run on Monday afternoon from 1.30 – 3.00 at Eastwood Park. Please bring wellie boots for river walking and a change of clothes! If anybody has NOT signed up to the workshops, but fancies coming along to join in and find out more, please feel free to join us.

Graduation Celebration

Graduation

Our children’s Graduation Celebration was a roaring success, thank you to all who attended and gave their support to the children heading off to school. We were really disappointed to discover our photographs did not turn out well. Please tweet @IsobelMairFC with any photos from graduation or email to quailed@isobelmair.e-renfrew.sch.uk

Thank you to those who have sent photos in already – much appreciated.

Pop in and Play

Pop in and Play

Our next pop in and play sessions will take place W.B 23rd April. The last sessions in January were well attended and we had 17 responses from our online follow up feedback questionnaire. The feedback has been collated and is on the Improvement Planning wall if you would like to read our action plan. We have listened to what you told us and feedback was generally very good, so thank you! We will make any appropriate changes and for the upcoming pop in and play we will host a short coffee and chat beforehand to explain our ethos of child directed learning within the family centre, with particular reference to the Cara playroom.

Pop in and Play dates are:

Tuesday 24th April

Wednesday 25th April

Thursday 26th April

The usual planners are at the playroom doors, so please write your name beside the day that suits you best. Younger siblings are welcome to join in. Online feedback forms will be available following the sessions. Please complete as we want to ensure we are providing the best opportunities and want to make improvements to everything we do!
