All pupils should have received a letter (link below) on Friday with details of the school trips which staff have proposed running this session (and a couple of possible ones for next session).
It is unlikely we would be able to run all of these but we are wanting to gauge the interest to identify the most popular choices. If your son / daughter would like to go on a trip, please complete the form and return it this week.
That will help us to finalise which trips will be available.

Trip Letter 1.9.2017pdf
Four of our young people – Nicola Miller, Sophie Turnbull, Callum Scott and Ronan Park-Patterson – are currently in Malawi (the poorest country in the world) with the ERC group of 26 pupils from all the high schools, together with some staff.
They have all worked together to raise money to fund the trip and also allow them to participate in activities that would benefit the local people. They will be working in the Kaponda district that has been a focus for the work of Barrhead Councillor Betty Cunningham for the past few years.
They have set up a Twitter account so folk at home can follow what they are up to – ERC Malawi2015.
Why not follow them?
The reception with Nicola Sturgeon took place today (early morning our time) and she met with the East Renfrewshire group.
As indicated in the previous post, Euan had been selected to represent the group and he spoke very well on behalf of ERC and the North East hubs. He is dressed in kung fu gear as he was also performing later – hopefully we will get some pictures of that!
A group of East Renfrewshire pupils are currently visiting China, accompanied by our own Principal Teacher of Modern Language, Miss Catriona Ness. One of our pupils, Euan Stevenson (S6), is also part of the party.
They have linked up with the partner school and also had some time sightseeing and learning about the culture of the host country. This has included a visit to the Great wall.
Euan performed a tea ceremony at the partnership school; however this Sunday (tomorrow), Nicola Sturgeon is meeting with the group in Beijing and Euan has been selected to speak to her. He’ll be inviting her back to Barrhead for a cuppa next!
The BBC will be there too so look out for some mentions in the media!
We are looking forward to a full report on their return.
If you have been following the France Trip on Twitter, you will know that they have been having a ball! If not, you have been missing out on an entertaining update all week long – catch up @BHSFrance2015.
The France trip staff are proposing a natty little addition to the Barrhead High uniform – any guesses what?
With the new high levels of information and entertainment quality set this week by the France trip TWITTER, someone could be up for a TWIT OF THE YEAR AWARD – any nominations?
Go to the video link below for some of the action from the S1 Adventure Weekend.
Pupils were hooked up to the school’s new GoPro camera. Apologies for some shaking, When you see what they were up to to, you will understand why – I would be shaking too if I was way up there!

BHS Adventure Trip March 2015
Higher Geography pupils took part in a field trip earlier this week. The morning saw them take a rib ride along the Clyde to look at regeneration along the waterfront, followed by a walking tour of the Gorbals, and some fieldwork exercises in the city centre.
Please find attached further information on the school trips that are planned for the year ahead. The teaching staff involved with these trips will provide pupils with more information in the coming weeks.
