Please find below our Parent Council updates. We hope you find this helpful in providing you with up to date information.

January Update

Before our next Parent Council meeting on 18th February, we wanted to update you on our current activities. We are working closely with the school on several initiatives and have been in touch with parents who have raised questions with us. Please get in touch by email if you have anything you would like us to raise at our next meeting.

Our fundraising efforts continue this term with our subsequent planned events as follows:

Reading Heroes: The ongoing support for this campaign has been fantastic. We especially want to thank our pupils for getting involved this term by raising money through sponsorship for the challenges they are undertaking. This campaign is open to anyone who wants to take part. If we sell all our Superball tickets, 10 more reading heroes would take us to our £10,000 goal for the reading resources.

January Superball: Thanks to donations from local businesses, we have three incredible prize bundles available. We are selling 200 numbers for this fantastic draw, with every penny going towards the reading resources. Tickets are on sale now via the Collctiv platform: https://pay.collctiv.com/nrps-superball-2025-14344 . Please remember not to support Collctiv when paying for tickets, as we do not receive this money.

Race Night: We are holding a Race Night on Saturday 22nd March. This will be an adults-only, screen-free event with a bar and raffle on the night. Tickets will be on sale for this brilliant night soon.

Spring Disco: Our Spring Disco will be held at the school on Wednesday 2nd April, with P1-3 and P4-7 discos on the night. It’s an excellent chance for the kids to party before the holidays. We’ll have our usual glitter tattoos, and the tuck shop will return by popular demand!

Thank you for being so supportive; if you want to attend our next meeting, it will be held at The Hub at the Cross in Stewarton on Tuesday 18th February. The agenda for this and minutes from the previous meeting will be shared before the February break.

December Update

In October, we shared our ambitious fundraising target for this year and the reading resources we would like to provide the school. As we approach the end of the year, we wanted to update you and thank you for the incredible support you have given us and the school.

Thanks to our collective fundraising efforts, including the school’s PJ Parade, the Halloween disco, donations from ASDA Cashpot, Christmas cards, the Co-op, our Reading Heroes, festive squares and the Christmas gift event, we have raised a phenomenal £9,200.79 this term. To date, £7,500 has been ring-fenced from our fundraising for the reading resources. Thanks to your generosity, that of our local business reading heroes, and Stewarton Initiatives, we are now 75% of the way to our fundraising goal for the reading resources. We can’t thank you enough.

In addition to working towards our reading resources goal, this term we held our Halloween Disco, paid for the transport to the pantomime and provided selection boxes for the school Christmas parties. We are planning more fun events for next year and will share more fundraising updates and details of upcoming events in the New Year. If you would like to get more involved with our fundraising or have any suggestions for fundraising opportunities, please get in touch. We’re always happy to have more people helping.

Could You Be A Reading Hero?

We are looking for 200 businesses, individuals or teams to be our heroes by raising or donating a minimum of £50 each to help Nether Robertland Primary School Parent Council reach our goal of £10,000 for new reading resources for our school.

You could do a readathon, climb a hill, walk, swim, or do anything else you can think of to raise sponsorship money. Whether your challenge is big or small, every penny you raise will make a huge difference and enable us to buy the new reading resources we desperately need. Your role as a hero is crucial in our mission to buy new books for our school. Each hero’s name will be added to our reading tree in our school hall, and we will share pictures on social media.

Ready to be a hero? Pledge to take part by emailing nrpsparentcouncil@gmail.com or, if you’re prepared to donate your £50 now, you can do it online now: https://pay.collctiv.com/robertland-reading-heroes-64194 When you donate online, please skip the step to add money for collectiv as we do not receive this money.

October Update

This year, the Parent Council has set an ambitious fundraising goal to support our school in acquiring essential reading resources. These resources are critical for providing our children with up-to-date and fit-for-purpose reading materials.

Our goal is ambitious but crucial. We are working with the school to raise a minimum of £10,000 to secure these reading resources for the school.

There are other ways we are supporting the school this year. We are also undertaking fundraising to pay for the pantomime school buses, provide selection boxes for the school Christmas parties, supply gifts to our P7 leavers, and support the school with any ad hoc resources they need. This is a much larger overall target than usual, so we can improve the reading resources and provide fantastic opportunities for our children.

The fundraising has begun with the school’s PJ Parade (the school is still accepting cash donations) and will continue in various ways throughout the rest of the school year. Every donation you make will help us reach our target and improve our children’s education.

Our next fundraiser is our Halloween Disco next week, and we will share more fundraising updates and details of upcoming events throughout the year. If you would like to get more involved with our fundraising or have any suggestions of fundraising opportunities, please get in touch. We’re always happy to have more people helping.
