Dear Parents and Carers,
As we begin preparing for our summer show, we are looking for your support with costumes. Our show takes the audience on a journey through time, from the 1940s to the present day, and we would love to create these looks using items children may already have at home wherever possible.
Please do not feel any pressure to buy anything new. We are aiming to keep this as low-cost and inclusive as possible.
Some ideas include:
1940s – shirts, braces, flat caps, simple dresses, cardigans
1950s – polka dots, scarves, circle skirts, rolled-up jeans, white t-shirts
1960s – bright colours, patterns, headbands, simple shift-style dresses
1970s – flared trousers, bold prints, denim, waistcoats
1980s – bright/neon clothing, leggings, oversized tops, denim jackets
1990s – checked shirts, denim, sportswear, band t-shirts
2000s–Present – everyday clothes, sporty or pop-inspired outfits
If you have any items, you are happy to lend or donate, we would be very grateful. Please send them in a labelled bag with your child’s name by Friday 29th May. Some children are part of more than one era so will need a costume for each.
If your child does not have anything suitable at home, please don’t worry at all, we will ensure every child is provided with a costume for their era in school.
Thank you so much for your support in helping us make this a fantastic show for the children.
Kind regards,
Mrs Terras
