P7/S1 Transition

Dear parent / carer

I am pleased to share with you the link to our P7 Information Video. As we are currently unable to welcome large groups of parents to the school for a face-to-face information evening, we decided to record a video that you can view with your child instead. This video should answer many of the questions you may have about the final stages of our transition programme.

The video can be viewed by clicking the link below:

https://youtu.be/f2xiLeHNeB0

Or through our school blog’s P7 Transition section:

We would also like to invite you to an online drop-in session on Wednesday 25th May from 6.30-7.30pm.  There will be no presentation or content shared during this session, this is an opportunity for parents and carers to ask any questions they may have. I would encourage you to watch the information video and look at the content on the P7 Transition page of our school blog in the first instance.

You can join us for the online session via the following link:

Walk To School Week 2022

Last week was Walk To School Week.

We, the JRSO’s were out every single morning encouraging as many people to walk, cycle, scoot and park and stride to school as possible.

We made some signs which were gathering lots of attention.

We also promoted “Mellow Mondays”, to wear comfy and relaxing clothing.

Thanks so much to everyone who supported us.

We had a super Walk To School Week.

Health Week 2022!

This week, the children took part in various activities focusing on health and wellbeing. We had a visit from PC McPike, Mr Paton from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and Mr Campbell who told P1 – 3 about farming.

On Monday, the children who wanted to take part, experienced the benefits of massage. Children also developed their tennis or badminton skills.

We had a bouncy castle and activities on Tuesday as well as skill stations run by the P6s.

On Wednesday, children took part in boxing, Taekwondo and the Hexigoal, run by Kilmarnock Football Club.

Well done to everyone who took part in Sports Day on Thursday. This was followed by a whole school Big Picnic.

On Friday, the children had the opportunity to explore mindfulness and relaxation.

New Class Blogs

New blog pages have been created for each of the classes from Primary 1 to Primary 7. These will replace the current class pages that are presently on the school blog.

The new blogs  will become live after the Easter break.

The blogs can be found by clicking on the name of your child’s class.

The teachers will show the children where to access their new class blog, which will be used for all home/school communication by the class teacher. All homework notes will be put on the class blog.
