Parents’ Open Evening for P1-7

Just a reminder that we are once again having our Parents’ Open Evening on Thursday 11th October. Parents and pupils are invited to come along and look through the work completed so far this session. This is also an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher.

There are no workshop sessions this year therefore classrooms will be open between 6pm and 8pm.

If your child is currently receiving EAST support, Tracy Shepherd our EAST teacher, will be in attendance on the night to discuss progress and answer any questions that you may have.

We look forward to seeing you on the night.

**SHOP WINDOW PROJECT**

P6 wrote letters inviting local shops to display our art work in their windows. The P7s went for a village walk and hand delivered the invitations. We waited for replies! Thank you to all the shops that gave us the thumbs up. Each teacher got to pick a shop from the hat and from there decided on what the children would create.

Our class was asked to design pictures to display in the window of the Castle Café. Mrs Harkiss decided that ice-cream sundaes would be a good idea. We designed and drew them and then we mounted them on a doily with our name. The Castle Café is the oldest family run business in Mauchline, it was established in 1909 and is known for its home- made dairy ice cream.
Everyone in the class made a picture, we hope that you enjoy our pictures as much as the ice-cream!

P7: The Workshop, Zentangles

We delivered the art work on Friday 5th October hoping that it will be displayed for a few weeks. Please enjoy and let us know what you think. Thanks once again to all the shops that came up trumps!

Rag Bags

Thank you to everyone who donated Rag Bags. This time we raised £82.80 from our recycling, it will be put to good use. Rag Bags can be brought in at any time and the P6 pupils will put them in the recycling bin ready for the next uplift. Keep them coming, BIG THANK YOU.

Dyslexia Awareness Week

The whole school are once again taking part in Dyslexia Awareness Week. We had an assembly on Monday to share tips and ideas about helping others with Dyslexia and also to raise awareness of how children with Dyslexia are feeling. Wednesday is ‘No Pens’ day and we are all looking forward to hearing about the exciting activities the classes all took part in.

**SHOP WINDOW PROJECT**

It is back! As of 8/10/18 look out for our FABULOUS art work in the shop windows in the village. We hope you enjoy looking at our arty endeavours. A big thank you to all the shops that were willing to offer their windows for display. Let the school know what you thought!
