P4/5 Halloween
P4/5 switched off the lights for the day to save energy, Global Goal 13!
We had spooky games in the dark in the hall and class before enjoying a party in the afternoon.

P4/5 Forces
We explored magnets, magnetism, the poles of a magnet and how they are used every day and the force of attraction or how they can repel.
P4/5 – Spelling
We are refreshing our spelling activities and the class engaged so well in being text detectives this week. They searched their reading books for the phonemes they are learning this week. We had lots of discussion about strategies to help spell words too such as finding words hiding inside words and using syllables.

P4/5 RSPB bird survey
We observed the birds we could see from our playground and garden. We kept a tally of how many varieties we saw and found some feathers that we tried to identify.
P4/5 Litter Pick
As part of our commitment to Global Goal 13 and to East Ayrshire Clean Green Award and Eco Schools Scotland we went on a local community litter pick.
P4/5 Science
As part of our ‘forces’ topic we were learning about air resistance this week. We made paper aeroplanes and parachutes. We tested them and evaluated then modified them to improve them.
P4/5 Maths
Exploring, learning and reinforcing times tables with Numicon.
P4/5 – Homework Block 2: Oct-Nov
