The sun was shining and we had a great day.

Mr Armstrong, our chanter and bagpipes instructor gave a demonstration to our current P4-6 pupils and explained about the chanter lessons/trial. A chanter would be available for pupils who express an interest for after the summer holidays.
I have asked pupils to have a chat with their grown-ups at home, if this would be something they were in interested in trialling next session.
If you child is interested, I’ve asked the class to let me know tomorrow and I will pass the names to Mr Armstrong. There is no obligation, this is simply an expression of interest at the moment.

We have been learning about balances – solo, partner balances, and counter balances. We had to focus on holding our bodies still and communicating carefully with our partner.
The excitement levels were hit today when P4/5 found out that Haribo were going to help us learn about calculating fractions of a quantity!! The best bit was halving them with our partner and eating them!!
We also used our skills in multiplication and division to help us too.

We have been focusing on dynamic jumps and landing. We focused on the 4 phases of a jump – preparation, take off, flight and landing from different heights.

We consolidated the French vocabulary we have learnt so far for farm animals by playing a game of “Who am I?” – it was lots of fun!

We started our gymnastics block today and have been focusing developing our balance and flexibility by making different shapes with our bodies.

Primary 7 demonstrated their leadership skills by setting up, organising and participating in PE activities for and with P4/5.
Based on our topic of Australia we created Australian animals out of clay that are often part of the Aboriginal Dream Time stories.
When the sun was shining we took the opportunity to run the daily mile, play ball games, skip, build, create and play games together.
