Numeracy – Subtraction Game

You play this game with 2 or 3 players.

Print the sheet or draw a similar one and place it on the floor/table subtraction_counter_toss

Toss a counter/coin/dice and whatever number it lands on you subtract it from 100 e.g. 100-37 if you land on 37

You keep going until someone reaches zero, they are the winner.

Literacy – Handwriting

IDL – Lego Challenge

Use Lego or any other materials to make a castle. I’m looking forward to seeing them.

Numeracy – Subtraction

Complete the column sums on the worksheet provided below.  You have a choice of 2 so you can pick your own difficulty level.  You do not need to complete every sum.  Do as many as you think you need practice with. You can either write on the worksheet below or complete on paper. Remember to show your workings, not just the answer.

IDL – Treasure hunt

Create a treasure hunt for someone to complete that will lead them around the garden/house and to a final destination. Each clue can be geared to a nature reference, family activity reference (swing, garage, flowerbed, etc.), or possibly as a treasure map complete with numbered paces, geographical direction and an “X” to mark the spot! You can download treasure maps from the internet as well.

PE – Workout

Complete the following – 10 Shuttle runs/10 walking lunges/10 burpees/10 sit ups – Do this circuit 3 times and take note of your time. Enjoy!

IDL – Climate

Look at the link below and watch the short video clip (04:48).  Give a brief summary on what ‘climate means’ and write how many different climate zones there are and how they differ.  You can record this information any way you like:

IDL – VE Day 

Research some facts about VE Day and produce a poster and/or PowerPoint. You can use bullet points and images in your work. I have also attached an art activity to colour and make a spitfire glider – you can print this off in paper or card to make it. PE – Workout

Complete the following – 30sec plank/5 Burpees/20 Mountain climbers/30 Step Ups (on an outside step or inside stairs)/30 sec plank. Do this circuit 3 times and take note of your time. Two workouts in two days – enjoy!

Only do what you can and don’t worry if you cant manage to finish work. Good morning P4B, the sun is with us again today. Here are today’s assignments, remember to only do what you can. Its been great to see all the activities you are doing at home. Have a great day and spend some time outside if you can.

Literacy – Spelling

Choose 3 activities from the menu to practise your ‘ough’ words from the story or some you have found. Choose at least one activity you haven’t done before.  The Story of ough / KS2-Spelling-Menu

Numeracy – Create a board game

Design and make a subtraction board game for you to play at home with your family. Use A4 paper and any decoration or theme you like e.g. Egypt/Sport/Animal/Irish. You could do a snakes/ladders type game or a ‘race to the finish’ etc. If you don’t have a dice you can use an online dice. You can make your subtraction calculations as difficult as you want, but not too easy or too tricky. I’m looking forward to seeing them!

IDL – Blind Obstacle Course

Create an obstacle course in your house or garden using different objects. Try it out yourself un-blindfolded so you know what the expectations are. Then, try to get someone in the house to complete it blindfolded. Your instructions will need to be clear and simple for them to follow the course successfully. You can show photos of this if you wish but you don’t need to. If you do complete this please remember to press ‘hand-in’ so I know you have completed it. Have fun!

Health and Wellbeing – Poster

Last week, you watched the attached PowerPoint about Food Groups and took some notes.

Review those notes and make a poster with pictures and information on the Food Groups, on paper or on the computer (painted, chalked onto the ground, collaged …) .

20-30mins reading a book/audio-book of your choice. If you fancy trying an audio-book then audible.co.uk have free ones just now. Its super to hear that so many of you are reading at home with your families.

Numeracy – Addition

Complete as many or as little as you can – the answers are attached for you to double check and make corrections once you have finished. Please don’t stress about finishing it, Ill be happy with whatever you can manage. 3d+3d

PE – Workout

Complete the following – 30 scissor kicks/15 squats/15 press ups/30sec wall sit. Do this circuit 3 times. Enjoy!
