Last week Primary 5-7 took part in 3 sessions of game designing through coding with My World of Work. The children began by learning how computers work, how video games are made and about the surprising amount of careers available to them in the gaming industry. Our enviromentally conscious pupils rolled up their sleeves to look after our coastal habitats today. We were marking the occassion of World Water Day and we were participating in The Litter League Spring Clean 2024 – Keep Scotland Beautiful campaign too. Our pupils happily marched down to Agnew Park beach and gave the area a good spring clean. There was lots of plastic to be found and the children had much discussion
During Term 3, P5-7 were very excited to be communicating with children in France through writing some letters…in French! Our community organised an Easter Craft fundraiser to help pay for a school trip to Belfast Titanic Museum next term for our senior pupils. Today the whole school got involved with some Outdoor Learning, and what a lovely day we had for it as well! Jo, from the Rhins and Luce Red Squirrel Network, came to work with the children on some improvements for our outdoor area. Yesterday parents/carers attended our annual Easter Craft afternoon organised by Donna and our Parent Council. The children got stuck in making some lovely Easter crafts and cards for our Easter Fayre, which were suggested and chosen by our Enterprise Group. Lots of arty (and messy) fun was had by all! What an amazing day P5-7 had at Sheuchan on Monday with the musicians and performers from the Scottish Opera. The underlying theme of the performance was to protect our planet and St. Joseph’s P5-7 played the villagers, who helped the other characters in the opera to realise that we need to respect our environment.
