What can we all do to keep children Safe?
Report a child protection concern
In Scotland, all adults are duty bearers with a responsibility to look after the safety and wellbeing of children. If you are worried that a child or young person may be at risk of harm, please contact the Social Work Access team:
Telephone: 030 33 33 3001 (24 hours – including out of hours calls)
Email: accessteam@dumgal.gov.uk
If you feel that the child or young person is in immediate danger, call Police Scotland on 999.
What happens when you report a concern
The Social Work Access Team will ask you for some basic information so they can look into your concerns. This includes:
- information about the child and their family
- details of what you saw or heard which worried you
- if you think the child is in immediate risk
- They always treat your information seriously and your details with great care. You can remain anonymous but it makes it harder for the Social Work Access Team to look into your concerns.
