Wellbeing
Wellbeing in Scottish education refers to the holistic approach to promote the physical, mental, emotional, and social wellbeing of children and young people.
To promote wellbeing, schools and ELCs in Dumfries and Galloway often have dedicated initiatives, such as Health and Wellbeing policies, pastoral care systems and partnerships. They prioritise collaborative learning, student voice, and involving parents/carers in supporting the wellbeing of all children and young people. Dumfries and Galloway recognises that a student’s success is not solely determined by academic achievements but also by their overall wellbeing. By prioritising the wellbeing indicators, schools and early years aim to create a supportive and nurturing environment that enables all our students to thrive and reach their full potential.
