P1-4 trip to Culzean

P1-4 of both Leswalt and Portpatrick recently had a trip to Culzean castle to take part in pond dipping, beach activities and castle based activities, which linked in with their learning in class on the the topic of water.

Tongland power station visit

in order to consolidate learning on the topic of water, P5-7 from both Leswalt and Portpatrick recently went a trip to Tongland Power station.

Leswalt end of term celebration of achievement

Mrs Sheila Baillie welcomed a packed Leswalt Primary School hall to parents, friends and relatives for the annual closing ceremony and celebration of achievement. Leswalt and Portpatrick unite in holy matrimony

On Tuesday 1st of July 2014, the partnership schools of Leswalt and Portpatrick came together as one in a union. A marriage took place, with the pupils, parents and wider community of both schools joining to celebrate the partnership. Pupils were involved in the planning and preparation of this wedding, guided by Miss Baillie PT.  Pupils created invites, made orders of service and favours etc.  It was a fantastic day

Jack’s blackening!

In preparation  for the wedding on Tuesday, Jack the bridegroom was blackened at 3pm.  He was a very good sport and took it so well.  He is hoping to have his best man over for a stag night sleepover this weekend!

Fantastic fundraising!

The fundraising group of Leswalt Primary recently organised a Cream Teas event, which was held in the school.  Among the attractions there was a barbeque, face painting, book stall, fantastic prize raffle and of course delicious home baking. Larbrax beach clean

Leswalt and Portpatrick Primary are currently focusing on “Water” as a context for learning this term.  As part of their work in the classroom the 2 schools met halfway at Larbrax beach and conducted a big beach clean.  The weather was glorious – everyone had fun in the sun while doing their bit for the local environment.

Easter Challenge

The pupils of Leswalt and Portpatrick Primary recently came together to take part in a fun Easter challenge “Mission Possible”.  the aim of this challenge was for pupils to work creatively in mixed teams to create a structure to allow their eggy super agent to drive a set distance, float across water and finally survive a drop from  great height!  Points were awarded for creativity, teamwork and egg survival skills.
