Residential

Last week P,5,6 and 7 went on residential for 2 nights. We went to Rock UK. We got a bus to Rock UK and the bus ride took 2 hours on the way there and on the way back.

My favourite activity was low ropes. To do low ropes you need to ware a helmet. There is a balance beam that goes over a little swampy bit and a tiny zip line.

The activity i wood do again wood be kayaking because it is very fun and if you fall in you are getting wet.I didin’t want to get wet . there was a slide that you could go down but i didin’t want to do the slide.

Residential

Hello, it’s Dannie today I am going be talking to you about residential.

My favourite activity was zip line. This included being in a harness with rope connected to a clip, which connected to the wire. I improved my skills at trusting because I needed to trust the rope. It made me feel sick the first time I did it. I went again and second time was much more fun.

The most challenging activity was raft building.  This included building a raft with big logs of wood , rope and blue things that float in water. I improved my teamwork skills because we all had to work together . It made me feel scared  because I did not know if it would work. We put the raft into the water and we all climbed on…

We were safe! It floated!

The one activity I’ll do again is swimming because I really like it. We swam, we played games, we splashed around. There was a lot of laughing.  When I am good at swimming – I’ll be able to go on my own!

Residential

My favourite  activity was kayaking. For kayaking  you need to get in a boat and you need to get a paddle, that paddle  has two sides. When you get in the pond you do the activity. Kayaking helped me with my kayaking skills. Kayaking made me feel nervous.

The most challenging was stream walking, for stream walking  you  need to put on a helmet and a waterproof suit. The stream walking made me feel nervous.  The skills I improved were my balance skills.

The one activity I would do again is raft building. In raft building  you build a raft then you test your raft. Raft building made me feel excited. I improved my teamwork skills.

My favourite thing was kayaking ,kayaking is when you are in a little boat and you have a paddle. It was so fun . I like the kayak slide and when I went down the slide a tun of water went in my eyes.

The most challenging thing was abseiling. It was so high but I sat at the top. It felt like I was  going to fall  off. I decided I couldn’t do it this time.

The one I’d do again is raft building. It was very funny when I went into the water to push the raft in. I climbed on and then I fell off. I felt like I had started to drown but the man saved me . It was so much fun I would love to go again.

Residential

Last week p5,p6 and  p7 went on our yearly residential.

My favourite activity:

The zip line was my favourite activity simply because I felt like I was flying. first everyone lines up behind a harness then you put it on and the instructor tightens it. After that you get your lanyard (the bit that actually goes on the line) Then you make your way up the hill.

Next 2 by 2 you get clipped on to the line and jump of the platform!

We got two shots first time me and Claudia went together and lost our voices from screaming “MEOW” On my second shot I went with Libby and I did no hands.

Most challenging: the most challenging activity was the stream walk for one reason it was cold and because we had to go over and under obstacles.

A stream walk is a walk  were you walk trough a stream.

We also had plastic ducks we had to protect from the hunters.

We went through tunnels over rocks and under sticks.

The one I would do again is raft building it was so funny. raft building is were you get into a group and make  a raft for your group to  go in the water on when.

We played a few games on our rafts. And did a few challenges.

Eventually  my groups raft fell apart in the water but was still a funny experience.

My favourite activity was the zip line. it was really fun and fast! I went down the zip line with Daisie. We went over the trees and the pond. Zip lining involves you on a harness and sliding down a line. Would you go on the zip line?

The most challenging activity for me, was abseiling – here I am just about to go over the edge. Abseiling involves you being strapped into a harness and walking down a wall.  I got too scared, it was really high!  I decided it was a bit too hard for me, so I came back in.

The one I’d do again is kayaking. It was really fun! I sat in the boat and used a paddle to  move forward, back and to turn. We played follow the leader and grab the ducks. Daisie and I both capsized. We both tipped over at the same time and came out of the kayak into the water. We had to swim to the deck to get back in.

My class P 5/6/7 went on residential to Rock uk. My favourite activity was kayaking. I kept falling out on purpose. We went down a big slide. At the end of the slide i got water in my face it wasn’t very nice. I was scared at the start but nearer the end it got less scary. Kayaking is a open water sport.
The most challenging activity was abseiling. Abseiling is where you walk down a wall. It’s about 10 meters off the ground. It’s very scary. You have to use your braveness skills. It’s scary on your first try but when you try again its less scary.
The one i’d do again is zip line. The walk up to the zip line is so long. Alexi and I went on together both times. The zip line is 300 meters long. You need to use your leading skills.

Residential

The P5 to P7s went on a residential and here is three of the activity we did.  My favourite activity was mountain biking because I got to do a trail for the first time. At the start I could not do a berm but by the end I was ok at berm. We all loved the trail but there was a lot of berms.

The most challenging activity was the stream walk because my team did it at  9am and the night was very wet. The stream was very high. At the start of the stream walk we had to go though a pipe and over a lot of hoops.

The one activity you need to try is abseiling. Abseiling involves a safety rope, a repel rope and a wall, the wall needs to be at lest 15m to 20m tall. I love abseiling would you try it?

The Residential Blog!!!

My favourite activity was kayaking which is like canoeing but one person and a smaller boat. A kayaking paddle is a paddle with two ends and you turn it round  and round to go forward paddle with one side of the paddle to go left and the other way to go right it is very simple and fun. You will need some safety equipment in case you capsize if you capsize it means your boat tips to one side and then it goes upside down. But it is ok if your wearing the right gear so first you put a helmet on then you put  the right sized life jacket it will puff up when you are in the water not letting you go underwater you put a helmet on.                                                  This is me on dry land.
