Residential

My favourite activity on residential was the stream walk. We would walk through a stream. It was fun! We would go under over and through branches tunnels and pipes. I did a bonus where the instituters would  get a pipe and completely put it under water and you go through it. The instructors would shout NINJA! And we would do a ninja stance.

The most challenging thing was the high ropes. Shockingly it was high. I was shaking a lot. It was scary when I needed to lean back. I needed to get down! The high ropes Is when you climb high and come down. It was hard because I felt I would fall down.

The activity I would do again is probably kayaking. I LOVED IT!  We played a game were the instructors would through rubber ducks and we would get them. I sadly I didn’t get any. It was so so so funny and it was a little hard.

Residential At Rock Uk

Hello today I’m going to talk about  residential.

In residential my favourite was MTB. The bikes were cubes. They had rock shock Judy suspension. Mine were silver which are the worst rock shock Judy type, with no bounce. The size of bike I had was extra small. We did a full blue trail which involved berms, table top and rollers. I nearly fell on the skinny trail bit with barely any path.

The one I would like to do again. I would like to do kayaking at Rock UK again. The colour of my kayak was green.  We had to put our knees under a black arrow what stuck in to the middle of the kayak. The kayaks were very hard to not wobble. In the kayaks when we got pushed in to the water it was scary because it felt like we were going to tip. There was also a slide but I didn’t go down it because it was my first time going in a kayak – I definitely want to do that next time.

The most challenging activity was stream walk because it had a lot of tight spaces like the tunnels.  At the start we put mud on our faces, but by the end we figured out the mud didn’t help us at all. It just made us uncomfortable for an hour and fifteen minutes. There was a tunnel at the near end that was massive. We went through it and tried to come back against the water. It was hard but I did it.

My Favourite, Most challenging and I would do again.

My favourite was swimming! I liked swimming because swimming is my favourite sport. I enjoyed swimming because I got to have a splash about, practice my strokes and play lots of games! After all that it was time to go.

Most challenging was the stream walk. The only reason why I didn’t enjoy the stream walk as much as the others is because we had to go through and under little holes. I sorta liked it because it was fun, adventures and wet ( i like being wet ) The stream walk is basically a adventurist walk through a river, goingthrough some little gaps and telling stories. The skills I have used: Creativity

This is a picture of me on the low ropes!

The one I would do again is raft building. I enjoyed raft building the most  because we got to make our own rafts and take them into the lake and sail them! How we made them was 8 ropes, 6 long logs and 4 barrels. It was so fun because we got to lay some games on them and jump in at the end! My raft sadly broke again, one this year and one last year. Skills I have used: Teamwork, communication, thinking skills and creativity.

I would 100% like to go again. Goodbyee.

Residential

My favourite activity was mountain biking, I already loved mountain biking but the trails were 100% better then what I anticipated! We started with some brake tests in a box and some track standing races. Then we went to the skills park. when we got there we done a blue mini trail, this involved some rollers and berms. After we completed the task we moved on to a bigger mini blue trail, then at the end we got to do a massive blue trail! We only got to do mountain biking because there was a free spot, and they wanted to get pictures of people riding there brand new bikes.

My most challenging activity was the stream walk because it was absolutely freezing. At the start it was pretty shallow, maybe about knee height. All we had to do there was to go under some obstacles or through them like we had to go through a tyre. Then as we went further in the river it got a hole lot deeper and colder. Finally just before we were about to go, me, Owen and Thomas all put are heads under the water. It gave you really bad brain freeze.

I would like to try low ropes again in another place. It’s an obstacle course were you have to balance and clime on ropes or wood. My favourite obstacle was called the bog log, it was a log going throw a bog that you had to walk across. Low ropes was challenging and fun at the same time and that’s why want to try it again!

Residential

Hello Harry here and we went on a residential recently at Rock Uk.

My favourite activity was kayaking. This involved keeping the kayak balanced and using the paddle right by stroking the water at the correct side to stay straight. I developed my kayaking skills when getting a lot of speed while playing games and going down a slide on the kayak required some bravery but it was very fun. This made me happy because I liked that we could play around.

The most challenging activity was rock climbing. This included different holds and grips we got clipped into a harness with our friends and an instructor hold our safety rope so if we slip or if we go down they can give it some hard pulls so we can safely lower our self by sort of abseiling down. I improved my rock climbing skills by including hard holds in my routes. I felt proud because each run I got further than the last.

The activity I’d do again is mountain biking. It involved balance and speed control while going round berms and rollers. We tried a blue taster trail and there was 1 tabletop, a few berms and a couple rollers. There was a red trail which was more technical it had some drops it looked fun but we weren’t allowed to do it sadly.  I used patience skills while waiting for my turn and correct technique for properly pumping the rollers and riding berms. I was happy because I enjoying doing mountain biking on my own bike as well.

Bye

Residential

Hello it’s Owen we just had our RESIDENTIAL!

My favourite activity was mountain biking. It involved balance to keep the bike up. It’s a type of cycling where you go down trails and jumps. My bike was a Cube hard-tail with Rock Shox Judy fork. First we did a blue taster trail and it had one table top, which is a type of jump like a gap jump but no gap, that was vert fun. There was a few drops but we couldn’t do them since our instructor was not qualified to let us to them.

My most challenging activity was the stream walk. It involves going under and over logs and roots through tires and crawling in tunnels. It’s freezing! Half way through the stream we got to a den and we had to tell the instructor a joke and if it was bad we got splashed with a bucket. My joke was a did you know did you know that if you where allergic to nuts and got hit by a car you would still die. Lets just say I got splashed lots of times. The activity I would do again is high ropes. It involves climbing up towers on ropes and balancing up in the air on a thin cable. I would do it again since I feel like I could go higher up. Bye 🙂 😉

At Rock Uk

When I went on residential my favourite activity was zip line you go over water, trees and bushes! Once I got to the top I was quite scared. Surprisingly once you go down its not really that scary.

The most challenging was probably abseiling I didn’t do the abseiling but I done the small tower to practice. So basically abseiling is were you lower yourself down a tall dower with a rope. Of coarse you have a harness on and when your at the top you get clipped in and sit in your harness and straighten your leg  that’s  the bit I found tricky because your over 6 meters off the ground!

The activity I would do again is probably swimming. Swimming was good but I didn’t get to do much because there was a lot of people in the pool I still got to swim! Swimming basically counts as a free play it was so fun there was  a deep end and a shallow end.

Residential

My favourite activity was Mountain Biking. We started off by doing a braking test so every body could brake properly and then we did a slow race. After that we did some small trails that had berms and rollers. Then we tried a medium trail. After that we did a real trail it had loads of berms rollers and a tabletop. I used my Patience skills when waiting to go down the trail. At the end we cycled back to get ready do our next activity.

The most challenging activity was stream walk. On the stream walk we had to go under logs that where very close to the water. Some parts where very deep and you could stand in and go under water. There was also a lot of tunnels and pipes you could squeeze through. One of the pipes sent you flying out the other side. It was freezing. In this I used my teamwork skills to encourage people to go through the tunnels and under the sticks.

The activity I would do again would be the zipline. It was a long steel rope that you clip into and ride all the way down. I would do it again because it feels like your zooming through the air. It was three hundred metres long and and you can go up to thirty miles per hour. Sadly we only got two shots. I used my adapting skills because my partner wasn’t there in time.

My weekend

On Friday when I went home I was exited because my strawberry plant was growing . It had formed a little green strawberry. I was so happy .

On Saturday I did a water balloon fight with my friends and my neighbour. we hid in my neighbour car so we did not get socked unlike everyone else .It was amazing!

On Sunday I went shopping with my family . I bought a figet cube and some putty. the putty was green and it was colour changing. It was really rubbery and not good and it was a waste of my money.

Well I have  to go now . BYEE

My Weekend

On Saturday I woke up to the sound of kids playing. I couldn’t believe how they had the energy. I couldn’t even get out of bed. So I just chilled on my tablet. On Sunday it was an amazing day. I woke up happily. Then me and Asil went outside to hang the clothes up to dry. After that we did some skipping. Out of nowhere our neighbours were having a water balloon fight. So we hid in the car so we wouldn’t get wet.
