Some Preperation For Our Assembly

These are our ‘Healthy Hero’ comic strips.  In class we have been looking at healthy lifestyles and what is required to maintain one.  Healthy lifestyles and what constitutes one is what our class assembly, on Tuesday 15th March 2011, is about.  We have been working across all areas of the curriculum on this issue.  We looked at comic strips and poems in literacy, gaphs and charts in maths and our favourite fruits and veg and why in french.  In french we had to say which fruit or veg we liked and why and which we didn’t like and why!!! It was very hard but we really enjoy french.

Au revoir for now!!!!

Talk About Walkabout

In this lesson we had to work together in groups.  We were looking at ‘Global Citizenship’, linked to our government topic.  We had to explain and give examples of terms such as, ‘One World’, ‘Diversity’ and ‘Global Citizen’.  We also came up with a phrase to help us remember how to spell diversity and to remind us of what it meant.  It’s as follows:

Different

Individuals

Valuing

Each other

Regardless of

Skin

Intellect

Talent or

Years.

100 Year Tea Party: An Edwardian style party.

As you know our school is 100 years old and as part of our 100 year topic we recreated an Edwardian themed tea party in class.  We had to make our own sandwiches.  We had a choice of fillings, jam, lemon curd or mixed fruit jam.  We also had cheese and fruit platters and digestive and rich tea biscuits.  We had a ball!!! Lets hope the children in Edwardian times had a ball back then too!!!!

Presenting our powerpoints

The following photos show some of our class presenting their PowerPoint’s.  We found presenting to the whole class a bit scary to begin with, but once we got up there and started it wasn’t too bad.  We realised though that we were all in the same boat, everyone had to present their PowerPoint’s.

We also peer assesed each others presentations, we have posted photos of that too.  It wasn’t just visual feedback we also discussed why we liked or disliked any aspects of the presentations and had a Q&A session.
