Its been another busy and productive week in class!

Literacy

We have learned two new sounds this week which are ‘igh’ like ‘light’ and ‘ow’ as in ‘snow.’ In reading the children are becoming more independent and learned how to sound out tricky words when we get stuck or missing the word out then looking for clues on the page/picture.

As part of our Literacy we have also started learning some favourite songs, with Makaton through ‘Singing Hands’ on YouTube. This week we have enjoyed learning how to sign to George Ezra, ‘Shotgun.’

If you’d like to carry this on at home I’ve provided the link below.

Numeracy

We have been consolidating our knowledge of addition within 10 this week and next week we will begin to use this knowledge to work with money.

The Body

There was high excitement on Thursday afternoon as we discovered more about the human heart. We learned that the heart pumps blood around the whole body. We then conducted an experiment to see how the heart squeezes and pushes blood around.

Here are our star writers of the week are Eva and Kole! Well done! Your news stories were fabulous.
