Happy New Year and welcome back! I hope everyone had a lovely holiday and it has been lovely to hear stories from the children about their time off.

Literacy

This week we have been revising some of the sounds that we learned in term 2. I have extended this learning by introducing a formal handwriting jotter. The children have enjoyed learning to write on lines and feel very grown up!

This week the children wrote about the Christmas presents they received this year and enjoyed having time to talk and share their news. This week we have two star writers! Well done!

Numeracy

This week we have started learning how to tell the time using o’clock on both an analogue and a digital clock. The children have been practising their new skills through games, show me activities with mini clocks as well as taking part in some songs about o’clock times.

Science/Health and Wellbeing

This term our topic will The Body. This week we spoke about what we would like to find out. Questions from the children included, ‘how do our eyeballs move’ to ‘Why do we be sick sometimes!’ Next week we will begin by looking at the skeleton.
