P2 and P2/3

P2:

This term is flying by and P2 have been busy learning across all areas!  We are finding out about different types of weather and have enjoyed making a wind sock to test wind direction.  Please ask us to tell you the name and type of clouds in the sky – our recent ‘cloud viewer’ lesson was lots of fun.

In Numeracy we have been solving some missing number sums, developing our skills in understanding and solving word problems and flying through our number bonds to 20.

We have a student teacher, Miss Hopgood at the moment.  We are enjoying learning with her.

We are excited to try out some experiments in the weeks up to the Easter break.

Here we are in the playground finding different ways to learn about the wind and clouds.

P2/3:

In PE, we have been learning Scottish Country dancing. We have learned Military Two-step and the Circassian Circle.  It is really fun and we have been very good at it because we have been listening and practising a lot.

Last term, we did an Enterprise project where we raised money by doing a Christmas Colouring Competition.  We raised enough money to buy 32 balls for the whole school to use for PE.  We were so proud of ourselves.

In Maths, we have been learning to measure length and mass.  We have been using rulers to measure using centimetres and scales to measure mass in grams.

In art, we were learning about Picasso, his life and style of painting. We explored using shape, line and colour to create portraits in the style of Picasso.  We also practised colour mixing.  It was fun!
