P5

P5:

This is the class charter. It was based on Beth’s design and we all had parts to do.

We started off the term setting our New Year Resolutions. We thought about what we want to achieve this year and set ourselves some goals to work towards.

Art:

This is the pop art that we have been learning also onomatopoeia and complimentary colours.

We had to do the  rainforest pop art and we had to make it stand out with big and bold colours.

And this is all the pop art that everyone created.

P5/6:

In P5/6 this term we have been working on the Zones of Regulation with Mrs Henry and Mr Tudor. The Zones of Regulation consist of four coloured zones. These zones are the blue, the green, the yellow and the red zone.

The blue zone is when you are sad, tired, bored and feeling blue. The yellow zone is when you are not focused, being silly, worried or frustrated. The red zone is when you are angry or so happy you are not in control of your actions. The green zone is when you are happy, calm, focused and ready to learn.

To get to the healthy zone (green) you can use lots of strategies such as find a quiet zone to work, take a brain break, speak to someone about the problem, and meditation.

This term for poetry we started off learning about the features and layout of a limerick. We then learned about Cinquain poems and finally rhyming couplets.

One of the topics in maths this term is angles. We are learning how to accurately measure and draw different types of angles such as acute, obtuse, right, reflex and straight. So far we are just working on angles from 1o to 180°.

Our topic this term is Natural Disasters. So far we have investigated earthquakes, tsunamis and hurricanes. We have been putting all of the information we have found into a slideshow or on a website.
