P4:
Here is some information about what we are learning in P4 this term.
This wall shows our learning about Children’s Rights.
Our class charter looks are the articles 12, 28, 29 and 31.
When learning about the articles linked to being Nurtured, we got class plants to care for. We named our plants: Jimbo, Bimbo, Sunny, Steve, Thunder, Money and Murray.
Literacy – We are learning our sounds using SRS We know that ‘oi’ and ‘oy’ make the same sound. We have learned about ch, se/sce, oo/oe/ew/o.
This term we are focusing on instructional writing. Mrs Noble turned into a robot and made a jam sandwich to help us learn about how to write good instructions.
Numeracy and Maths – We are learning how to tell the time and measuring weight and capacity. We know that we use different units to weigh and measure things e.g. mm/ml/kg.
PE – In PE we have been developing our tennis skills. We have been working on tracking the ball and timing. We were trying not to panic and trying to control it.
HWB – We have been learning about our bodies and privacy using P.A.N.T.S.

The Human Body – We have been learning about the body parts and their proper names /the skull protect your Brain.

We really enjoyed having lots of you come to visit as part of our Learning Celebration. Here is a showcase of all our hard work about Scotland.

- Samuel – I like to read David Walliams books.

Measuring in Maths
In measuring we learnt about metres, Centimetres, Kilometres and Millimetres In this photo we were finding objects in the forest with a partner and then measuring them.
We also measured weights in the classroom with scales.
Scottish Learning Celebration
We really enjoyed our learning celebration this year. It was all about Scotland. We did Gay Gordons, Scottish poems, and Scottish PowerPoints.
For our Scottish Learning Celebration we made a Robert Burns picture together. We all had a square to colour in to make it.
We worked very hard to learn and translate our poems. We also learned lots of Scots words and displayed them as a flag. We made tartan and we made shields and we learned about the map of Scotland.
We also had lots of fun dancing and made soup.
The Human Body
We learned lots about the skeleton such as the names of the bones and that we need to drink milk to get calcium to make them strong.
We also learned about the Brain. Each week we are adding to a non-chronological report about The Human Body.
SRS
In SRS we have been working on the /u/ and oi/ sound. We practise our spelling words outside to help us remember them.
PE
We are enjoying working on our balance and control in Gymnastics.
