Over recent weeks children from Campbeltown Nursery Centre have been travelling by bus to visit Machrihanish Golf Club where they have enjoyed participating in golf lessons with Jennie Dunn, PGA of Germany Head Professional, who is based at the Club.

Autumn Harvest
During the spring and summer months, the children at Campbeltown Nursery Centre were very busy giving their nursery garden a make over and planting seeds. They’ve successfully grown peas, turnips, carrots, herbs and Strawberries (apparently they taste “better than the ones in the shops”!) where only grass and hard ground was before. Campbeltown Nursery Transition to Castlehill
As part of the nursery transition programme, Campbeltown Nursery joined Primary one and two at Castlehill Primary for a “Happy Healthy Me Morning”. They participated in a wide range of activities which included Zumba, golf, healthy eating, fruit tasting and dental care. A fantastic morning was had by all.

Preschool Transition at Castlehill Primary
A busy calendar of activities has been planned at Castlehill to ensure that transition from Campbeltown Nursery to Primary 1 is a supported,positive process. Primary 1 have enjoyed going back to visit the nursery,especially using the outdoor area! Mrs Reid, Primary 1 class teacher, is also visiting the nursery weekly to work with the pre- schoolers, getting to know them in their own environment.
Happy Healthy Me
“Primary 1 children in Castlehill invited Campbeltown Nursery to join them for a “Happy Healthy Me” morning.
Everyone had taster sessions in Yoga Bugs, Mini Kickers and Keep Fit. Louise, the school nurse, also spoke to the children about keeping their hearts healthy. A fruit kebab healthy snack was enjoyed by all.”
Keeping Fit at Campbeltown Nursery
The children at Campbeltown Nursery are keeping fit this November. They are going swimming at Aqualibrium, the local leisure centre, and using up a lot of energy in the soft play and ball pool. Many are returning to nursery in the late afternoon to take part in a Yogabugs club, where they are acting out stories by stretching their bodies in different postures.
