The Hostel Factor 2016 was held on 29th November, to a packed audience of parents and staff. The show started with Junior Presenter, Cameron, a terrific witty and explosive introduction to the show and St Andrews Night. Our own Ant & Dec presenters, Brandon & Josh super smart double act put the judges and acts through their paces with their witty and entertaining presenting skills.
First up was Rory with his superb professional piping skills keeping the audience in the Scottish Theme.
Jamie followed with his entertaining fun Elvis act, lots of Elvis moves kept the crowd enthralled at his talent. Jade and Archie on the ukulele were up next with two Twenty One Pilots songs, Mirror Mirror On The Wall (Lara & Ellen) followed with a special type of gymnastic act and performed a polished routine throughout, Leah was up next with a beautiful stunning version of Radioactive and Fix You! The was a short break followed by our star presenters entertaining the audience and getting them into the merry atmosphere of the evening. Rory McD followed with his chanter performing an amazing medley of songs, The Last Laugh was a very entertaining sample of live Comedy and Findlay (Jerome)with his short video intro and then an unbelievable performance with jokes, and a dramatic performance along with Robert & Adam (Batman).
Jola, Lara & Jody had the judges on their feet with their perfectly pitched performance of Lostboy & Let It Go. The Staff Act of the night The Chancers was Mr McNeillage & Mr Crawford with their version of Have You Seen The Rain. Jamie & Archie, this time on the guitar, provided a moving performance with a song by 1975 & Marie. The last two acts Robert who sang two songs and Chantelle with We Don’t Talk Anymore with some entertaining dab moves, did not let the audience down with their enthusiastic performances and provided the perfect ending to an evening of awesome talent. Jola were chosen as the winners with Leah, Runner Up, Jamie & Archie were third. Eilidh & Cara did the make up and the results were so professional, amazingly talented young girls. Aaron with his brilliant It skills, Mhairi for photography, Campbell and Cara for video, Hostel Crew for their dedication and making sure the parents were made welcome, Mary & Rory for Directing and Producing this amazing show!
Thanks to Adam & Robert for sound, sincere thanks to the judges for fantastic outfits Donald, Amy, David & Dolly, who had the hard job of choosing a winner!
The young people showed so much effort, determination and confidence, super performing skills, what a Night!
Congratulations to all of our wonderful performers in the ‘Hostel Factor Show 2016’. Everyone who attended was blown away with the incredible show you put on for us at the hostel.
The night of the show has to be one of the most memorable evenings of my career at the hostel, I was so proud of the effort made by everyone involved in the show.
Mary – The way you spot the talent in our children and bring it out is really very special and the amount of time and energy you invest in making these shows happen is absolutely exceptional – You are a marvel!
