Singing in the rain!
One very rainy day in September, Salen Primary School and Pre-school children cheerfully set off on their sponsored walk led by mascot Labrador, Sonny Bill, who was celebrating his 3rd birthday.
The children were also accompanied by staff, parents and friends. Everyone had a great opportunity to practice road safety before going off-road for the real hike – 4.4 kilometres from start to finish. A welcome snack stop came half way with lovely views above Salen before tackling the Kissing Bridge on the way back down the hill. One parent very kindly blew kisses for good luck on the bridge.
The amazing amount of £1560 was raised for school funds with Sonny Bill having raised £20 towards this, himself! This money will be used to help buy resources and equipment for the children.
