P5 have been enjoying some martial arts and mindfulness in small groups. Some of the class have been attending One Mind United Mirae Kuk Sool Korean martial arts in Polbeth where they have been learning multiple skills with the main focus on values and discipline. Under the expert tutelage of Master John, pupils have been learning explicit listening skills, following instructions and showing respect. Other pupils have been enjoying mindfulness with a focus on health and well-being.
P2 Update 11.10.24
This week we have enjoyed working with Mr Elliott on our Building the Thinking Classroom Project. We are learning how to organise ourselves into groups, allocate roles, share our theories and work as a team to solve problems. We are loving it!
We have enjoyed some maths play to further enhance our understanding of the number system.
We celebrated mass today with Father Marcin and received many compliments about our fabulous singing.
Have a wonderful October break.
Primary 1
Pumpkin 🎃 play in primary 1. Primary 1 were given a pumpkin to explore this week. We all talked about when we had seen one before, if anyone had tasted and the smell of them.
We had lots of fun scooping out the inside and discovering 🌱 seeds, we carefully washed them at sat them out to dry. The class decided that they would like to try to grow their own pumpkins…..watch this space.
The pumpkin was then made into a 🎃 Jack-o-lantern and then chopped up for soup. Some of us used the top of it to practice our screwing skills.
We had a lovely outdoor session this week, enjoying the Autumn 🍂 sunshine we headed to the park.
During the week we also got to participate in our committee groups, we did very well moving round the school to other classrooms and working with children from across the school to make important committee decisions.
On Friday we participated in mass with the whole school. We were all very respectful and listened really well to Father and the Primary 7’s.
Have a lovely holiday 😀

Tay class did some process art inspired by photos, songs and videos of Autumn. We explored the colours: mixing different colours both on the palette and on the paper.
We continued our ‘All about Me’ topic. We watched and listened to songs about bones and created skeleton pictures with different types of pasta. ‘Dem bones, dem bones dem dry bones…’.
We listened to the colour monster story and sorted some different pictures into groups: sad, happy or angry.
P4 casting their votes – House elections

St Andrew
St John Ogilvie
St Margaret
St Ninian
This morning, we all went to the Primary 7 classroom to cast our votes for the House Captain elections. Over the past few weeks the candidates in Primary 7 have taken part in Hustings, where they have shared information to the whole school about why they would make a great House Captain! We enjoyed casting our votes and popping our vote into the box. We look forward to hearing who our new House Captains will be – good luck to all!
Primary 1
This week in Primary 1 we started our topic, Families. We thought about our own families and drew pictures to represent them. Lots of discussions we had about different types of families.
After learning about the season of Autumn we read the story Pumpkin Soup and have been getting creative with materials to make pretend soup in class.
On Friday we got to vote for House Captains, we had to go up to the Primary 7 classroom to vote. We were all very sensible.
As we were upstairs in the school we took the opportunity to visit some of the other spaces and classrooms in the school, it was lots of fun.
Have a lovely weekend everyone 🥰
Last week of cooking 🧑🍳 club
What a very messy afternoon we had at cooking club today!
We melted chocolate and made chocolate covered apples and bananas and decorated them with sprinkles 🍫 🍎 🍌 it was lots of fun and very messy! Once we decorated our apples and bananas we then got to dip marshmallows into the melted chocolate 🍫 it was very yummy and sticky.
Some of us ate all our goodies but some of us have them in the fridge to take home tomorrow.
We are looking forward to the next block of cooking club already 😀
P6’s busy week
Last week P6 enjoyed the European day of languages and particularly enjoyed tasting baguettes, cheese and sausages!
On Friday we had a super fun Sharing our Learning! First we showed parents what we do in reading, then we went outside to share some games we learned at camp! Parents weren’t at all competitive – NOT! Well done everyone!
