Primary 5 this week!!

It has been a very busy week in Primary 5 this week.

We have finished our Graph topic in Numeracy and have moved onto more Multiplication. The class were very excited about this!!

They have all worked really hard at Literacy this week; we have some exciting books in our reading groups – BFG, James and the Giant Peach, The Powder Monkey and Petey! Everyone has also worked so hard learning our new spelling sound ‘sh.’ We started our new Writing Genre last week so have been learning more about that too – Narrative. We will be creating our own stories soon and the ideas that have already been shared are excellent!

The big event in Primary 5 this week is that the class lead our first 2024 School Mass and what a great job they did. We are all so proud of you all; for your singing, participation and respect to others. Massive well done P5!

Primary 5’s speedy, super week!

Wow what a busy 3 days we have had in Primary 5 this week!

We’ve been really busy practising our sounds ‘ey’ and ‘ai’, and we spent some time using our magnetic boards too.

In numeracy we finished off our Place Value topic this week and next week, we’ll be starting Addition and Subtraction. We had a wee quiz to finish off our topics and some of our class became our teachers to help us.

Primary 5 then taught Mrs Wotherspoon something new when we played our first Blooket on Thursday about our class topic, Mary Queen of Scots! It was very loud in our classroom when the quiz was happening, especially since we used ‘Gold Quest’ mode!!

We also spent some time outside in the sunshine with P1S and it was lovely to see all our little friends, and help them with the bikes and scooters!

And finally, we finished off our Friday with some Handball practice for the Handball Festival that we are going to a week on Monday – October 2nd!

A big well done on another fab week Primary 5!! Have a great weekend!!!

Term 4 so far in P5!

It has been very busy in P5 since we returned from our Easter break!

We had our school trip to Sky Academy which was very exciting. Everyone got to take part in creating movie trailers and hopefully you’ve had a chance to watch them on the QR code sent home! li

We have continued with our maths topic ‘time’ and are starting to get to grips with the analogue clock. We are moving onto the digital clock next week.

In writing, we have started our new topic – Persuasive Writing – and we had a class debate this week about Earth Day and what can be done to help our planet.

We have lots coming up this term starting off with Shrek the Musical – we have some lead roles in our class so look for them when you come along to the performance in June! We have started designing back drops and props so our class looks a little bit like an Art Attack studio!

Also, next week on Thursday morning we are all off to Excite Whitburn for some swimming 10:30am – 12pm.

Have a great long weekend everyone! See you all on Wednesday 🙂
