Primary 5’s dramatic week!

Primary 5 have had a busy week! Firstly, we worked hard to complete our Puma Maths assessment.
We also tidied up the school grounds with a litter pick. We filled eight bags of rubbish!
All week we have also been rehearsing our assembly – Mary Queen of Scots from Birth to the Block. We have conducted a detailed study of Mary, her life, her mistakes and her downfall. We even visited Loch Leven Castle to see where she was imprisoned. We wanted to share our leaning through a dramatic and musical performance. And I have to say P5 absolutely smashed it!
Thank you to parents and carers who came to see our performance. It was a lovely way to wrap up what has been a fascinating learning journey that also helped us to uplevel our research skills, genre writing and spelling strategies too! And thanks to Miss Dixon who was in attendance today. It was a great pleasure to have you in class and help out at the start of our production! Well done P5!

Primary 1

Lots of fun learning in Primary 1.

We had a great outdoor buddy session this week. We made sensory bracelets, collecting flowers from around the school grounds.

We also had fun practicing and performing our Rookie Rockstars. Some of us attended and performed at the Thursday evening show, we all did very well and it was a great show.

In RE we learned all about Pentecost, how God sent the Holy Spirit 🕊️to be with us and help us make good choices. We made Holy Spirit headbands to represent the Holy Spirit in us.

We also learned the fairytale story of The Three Pigs 🐷. We made our own puppets so we could retell the story.

Primary 1

This week in Primary 1 we have been having fun 🤩 being rock 🎸 stars with Rookie Rockstars. We learned lots of new songs and dances as well as games and fun facts.

For some of us it was a bit loud to start with and it was very different to our usual learning but we all used our perseverance and we all tried our very best.

In class we had plated beanstalk 🌱 seeds, we have been looking after them in class and now it is time for them to go home. We are all proud of them and are looking forward to seeing them grow at home.

Have a lovely weekend ☺️

Primary 2

Primary 2 are now at the end of their volcano topic. As we are nearing the end of our topic, we were learning all about lava. We learned why it is the colour it is, how lava is formed and if rocks shoot out of it. We then created our own lava slime and wrote a procedure piece on how we made it 🟠

Primary 2 have engaged in Rookie Rockstars this week! We have had fun learning songs and preparing for our own concert. 🎸

This week primary 2 have also been preparing to showcase our learning of volcanoes in our assembly tomorrow morning! We hope to see our parents and careers there if you can make it along 🌋

Primary 1 Health Week Day 3 and Day 4

Another fun health week day !
We kicked off the day with a fun handball session with the Active Schools coordinator. We practiced lots of ball 🥎 skills and had fun playing the games.

We then  had a great gymnastics 🤸 session where we learned how to do forward and backward tumbles as well as lots of stretching.

Next up was the mini marathon, we all jogged round and counted how many laps we could do. We did this with P6R.

Sensory session was our next activity and we all had lots of fun trying lots of different things.

Have a lovely weekend 😀

Another fun filled day for P6R

This morning we kicked off our day with training to become buddies for the new Primary One children starting after the summer holidays. They’re learning how to be kind, responsible and supportive, helping our youngest pupils feel like they belong and feel safe in both of our schools. We’re proud of their enthusiasm and know they’ll make great role models.

Our first activity outside was Handball – another fabulous day made it so enjoyable as it wasn’t too hot out! We learnt new skills and played some games. Our friends from Ness class joined us also!

Before lunch we ran in our very own version of The London Marathon with our pals in P1 – great effort by all.

After lunch we completed some health week inspired posters and played team games with Ms. Lindsay and ended our day with a P.E. party!

Last day of health week tomorrow! 🙂

Rannoch News

We have had a wonderfully sunny ‘Health Week’ in Rannoch.

We have enjoyed playing football. We have enjoyed sensory trail time. We have also enjoyed making delicious fruit smoothies on the smoothie bike, which was so much fun!

We have also continued to focus on our learning and have revised our Phonic knowledge and learned more about the initial sounds of ‘sh’ and ‘r’.

In Art we have painted fish in relation to our Topic focus; ‘Under the Sea’. We have also made models with clay…of dinosaurs!

A great week with great friends and great weather!

Primary 2 Health Week

Primary 2 have had an awesome health week. We have had the opportunity to try different sports through taster sessions. We have tried sports and fruits that we have maybe not tried before. We have used our collaboration, perseverance, safety, and friendship skills this week. We even ended the week with a party and some health art.
