TheLifeOfTay!

What a wonderful week in the world of Tay!

We have loved our time outside on the Field…we have run, and run!

We have also made our own purple octopus models…complete with googly eyes! They’re so cute, and we’re so proud!

Our pencil control, in class, is going from strength to strength and we’re loving our Shapes songs…but still love our penguins!

Monster Burgers Invade Ness Class

What a fantastic time we had during our Food Technology session. The pupils decided they wanted to make ‘Monster Burgers’ with scary faces and tasty teeth. Well done to all the pupils who  flipped their own burgers, used different food textures and sniffed and tasted everything, they cooked. A very responsible class who cleaned and tidied up after themselves.

Well done Ness Monsters 🙂

P4/3 New year, new house corner

At the beginning of the new term we had our business meeting to decide what we wanted our house corner to be. Jenson chaired the meeting and Macie took the minutes. Everyone had lots of great ideas but in the end, after a fair vote, it was decided to turn it into a Starbucks. Everyone has been busy designing and creating different parts of the coffee shop for play.  We designed the outside and inside, we have a drive through window with a headset to speak to the customers, a road and some cars.  We made menus, snacks, cakes, drinks, ice cubes, a fridge for storage and lots more. We look forward to having lots of time to play and learn in our new area.

A new term in P4/3

We have had a very busy start to the new term.
Out new IDL topic is Our Community. We started by looking at the difference between our wants and needs. We now know that our needs are the things we require to live and be healthy whereas our wants are things that make our life more comfortable.

We then investigated the services that are available in our Community to help with our wants and needs.

Jorja – We have a doctors surgery

Siena – We have fire fighters

Amber – We use the Vets

Jenson – There is a police station

Evan – We have shops for food

In maths we have started our work on Multiplication. We used lots of practical equipment to help us learn different strategies to help us. We can use repeated addition, skip counting and arrays. P3 have been working on the 2 and 5 times tables and P4 have been working within the 3 and 4 times tables.

Happy New Year in Ness Class

The New Year got off to a brilliant start this week in Ness. Getting back into our routines helped focus our minds back to enjoying time with our learning friends.

In reading, we have been exploring non fiction texts. In writing, we have been focusing on New Year Resolutions and presentation. Our Number learning is multiplying by 2 and 3 this week. We are also linking this to repeated addition allowing us to go beyond 2×12 and 3×12.

The highlight of our week was baking today. Our class chose Shortbread biscuits and we look forward to tasting them tomorrow.

Enjoy the pictures below.
