In a sun drenched week we have enjoyed sensory exploration with coloured sand…we loved the feel!!

We have also been to the park where we climbed, swung and slid! We have also enjoyed time on the Trim Trail too!

In class we have built towers, designed peg board patterns and explored shapes and number bonds. We are also moving on apace with our Literacy skills and are starting to look at middle sounds as well as initial sounds.

We have had a lovely busy, busy, week!

We have had a week of smiles and sun this week.

We are making great strides in our initial sound and CVC work.

We are also learning to match up halves and recognise patterns.

We have worked on our pencil control and have also used cotton buds to practice our fine-motor painting skills.

We have also been learning how to put pictures into order of size.

We have also loved time in P.E. and in the Sensory Room….and lunch!

In one week’s time we’ll have completed our second term at St Mary’s, and made so many wonderful memories!

In our number work we have seen our peers work with numbers up to 20.

We have also worked on pattern recognition and enjoyed water play too!

We also enjoyed being in the Outdoor Classroom and on the Field.

We have enjoyed being with our friends again after the break.

Some of us are making great strides in our literacy and have moved onto beginning to work with CVC words and images. We are also continuing to work on our letter formation and practicing writing our name!

In Numeracy, we have worked on putting things and images into size order. We have also focused on replicating matchstick patterns, which has also practiced our fine motor skills.

We have also found time to play with bouncing putty and sensory tuff trays…along with time on the Kick Pitch and Trim Trail!

A lovely week has been enjoyed in Tay.

We can not believe that it is already half term – and half way through our first year at St Mary’s.

This week some of us have begun working on initial CVC words – their associate sounds and pictures.

We have also continued to work on our pattern construction and sequences in our Maths learning.

Busy bees that we are we have also found time to get muddy on the Trim Trail…and then get all cleaned up with sensory fun with bubbles and foam. We enjoyed feeling the textures as they change with water and the wonderful smells!

We wish you all a lovely half term holiday with your families and friends and hope that you join us again after the break to continue to share our journey!

What a wonderful week in the world of Tay!

We have loved our time outside on the Field…we have run, and run!

We have also made our own purple octopus models…complete with googly eyes! They’re so cute, and we’re so proud!

Our pencil control, in class, is going from strength to strength and we’re loving our Shapes songs…but still love our penguins!

#TheLifeOfTay

Well….!

Welcome to our final post of 2025!

We have had the most amazing first term in our school.

We have made friends.

We have played, and learned inside in our classroom, the gym hall, the sensory room, and outside in the mud, the sand, the water, the sun and the rain.

We have experienced sounds, letters, numbers, shapes, music and sensory experience.

We have had a ball!

We wish you all the most restful holiday period.

We look forward to your continuing following our #TayTravels, as we embark on #TayTermTwo in 2026. An adventure awaits!
