September weekend is ahead of us! We can’t quite believe it!

And what a week we have had! We have built with blocks, play sand and magnetic sand.

We have also worked on our CVC blending and our Numicon number bonds.

In our Art & Craft work we have worked so hard on images relating to our topic and have finished our corridor display. We think it looks lovely!

We’ll aim to bring your more pictures of our Literacy and Numeracy learning after the break! We’ve just been so busy!

Well the weather has changed…the summer sun has hidden itself behind the clouds a wee bit this week but we have kept our sunny disposition in Tay!

We have furthered our CVC word-building prowess in our Literacy studies.

In Numeracy some of us have begun to use the 10-frames to help us develop our Number Bond skillset.

We have also loved our Sensory times and immersed ourselves this wee in the wonderful world of magic sand! We started exploring the separate colours and then experimented with mixing them together to see what other colours we could create!

We have also started our Under The Sea topic and have learned about the amazing world of Octopuses and created our own seascape pictures using sand, cotton wool, blue paints and foam seaweed and fish. We think they look amazing!

What a busy week we have had… We have learned so much in our literacy classes… We have learned about the different types of fruit there are and many of us are beginning to develop our awareness of the blending sounds of CVC words. We are also focusing on the middle vowel sounds.

In our Numeracy we are working on number bonds and number formation. We are also developing our sequencing skills and learning how to follow patterns.

We have been painting and practising our building skills!

We have also enjoyed water play and time outside with our friends…and friends from other classes.

First days in the late Summer of 2025…To the last week of term in the early Summer of 2026…With so many memories made.

Well…Welcome once more to our story.

We continue to explore, entertain, and enthral!

This week, in the World of Super Tay, we have explored sound and vibration through musical instruments, as well as texture and sensation in sand…and the Trim Trail…complete with Water Sensory.

We have also engaged with Numicon number bonds, and sequenced pattern threading, which has also developed our fine motor skills.

We have doubled our Duplo skills in building tower blocks and honed our sand crafting skills…oh, and jigsaw expertise!

No Tay! No party!

Another busy week in the world of Super Tay!

Along with lots of sensory exploration with sand and bubbles (…lots of bubbles!)…we’ve been learning about the different types of fruits and their colours this week. Some of us he have also looked at how Numicon can help us learn in terms of our number work.

Some of us have also worked on our building and symmetry skills in the wood corner of the Outdoor Classroom.

With the return of the sun, a highlight of our week has been taking the scooters out to the Kick Pitch! We had great fun zooming around with our friends!

Busy, busy!

We have been busy again this week and have loved our Art work…we designed Highland cows with wooly forelocks and googly eyes!

We have also worked on our shape recognition and number formation.

Our literacy skills are also coming along stormingly…a bit like the weather! We have headed out though…undeterred by the squalls, and enjoyed time on the Kick Pitch and Trim Trail.

This week we are ending on a high too with our continuing love of all things P.E. and Sensory!

We have been bathed in glorious sun this week and our smiles have been shining too as we have played and learned with, and from, each other.

We have built castles in the sand and have learned about mixing colours in our sensory play with beautiful coloured sand. Our focus on beautiful colours has also extended into our Literacy studies, where we have been learning about colours in the world around us. Colour has also been a focus in our Art activities where we designed our own Elmer the Elephant paper mosaics with vibrant colours.

We have also explored the sensory sensation of the water tray on the Trim Trail and enjoyed the challenge of arranging blocks in the Outdoor Classroom into patterns of our own making.
