Primary 2

Last week we made hedgehogs out of clay and then we made a simple flowchart to give instructions for how to make one.  Next week we are going to paint our hedgehogs to add them to our woodland display table.  This week in art we used wax resist techniques to create images of seaside creatures, shells and seaweed and according to P2 our display looks fab.

In maths we have been learning to count in 2’s, 5’s from any number using the strategy of nodding on the number and then counting on using the correct number of fingers.  We will now try to count in 10’s.  We have also been using the Ten Frame Towers game to make towers of number bonds to 10.  The children liked this game because they could easily see the numbers that would fit together to make ten.

What a busy week – sounds like you are all budding artists.

I would really like to play a game of Ten Frame Towers – maybe I could come to your class one day?
