As part of our Scottish focus, Primary 1 have been linking our learning to the Katie Morag stories by Mairi Hedderwick.
After reading Katie Morag Delivers the Mail, where Katie Morag accidently drops her mailbag in stream, we investigated which material would be best to create a new waterproof bag for her. We tested foil, card, paper, cotton and plastic to see which materials were waterproof. We found that a type of plastic would work best for Katie Morag’s bag.
We also worked in pairs to build Katie Morag’s home, Post Office and shop and were able to describe each area of our constructions.
