P4 Week Beginning 14th February

Welcome back everybody after our long weekend. We have been sharing stories about our weekend and our holiday highlights.

We have started a new class novel, Charlie and The Great Glass Elevator. We are enjoying reading the story and completing linked activities.

We have also been learning to measure and weigh different objects. Ask us about length, weight, volume and capacity.

Have a great weekend Primary 4!

Miss Hall 🙂

Term 4 P.E. Days

Thank you for your support with school uniform and our new approach to P.E. kit.

We would request that on P.E. days children wear to school:

  • white polo shirt/ t-shirt – with school logo or plain or blue school P.E. t-shirt
  • blue sweatshirt/cardigan – with school logo or plain
  • P7 – black sweatshirt/cardigan
  • plain black tracksuit bottoms/ joggers
  • black trainers
  • girls who are wearing a skirt over their leggings can remove their skirt on P.E. days
  • we would recommend that children don’t wear their shirt and tie on their P.E. days

In order to continue with our inclusive ethos and promoting our school identity we would request that children don’t wear branded clothing. We also have nearly new school polo shirts and sweatshirts that can be purchased for a small donation.

On non P.E. days children should wear their normal school uniform (this does not include tracksuit bottoms, leggings – unless with a skirt or jeans).

P4 Space Topic

Our P4 STEM topic was Space – using the sun to explore the idea of time, days, months, and years.

We explored how patterns of the Sun, Moon and Earth are linked to daily life, seasons, time, day and night.  We also considered why it is important to understand how to tell/measure time accurately in our daily life and routines.  We identified how technology has changed to allow us to access time in a variety of ways.

On Friday we completed our paper plate sundials and waited for the sun to appear to try them out.  Thankfully we were able to get out for a short time.

Santa Visits PUSCPS!

A very exciting and magical afternoon at PUSCPS as Santa visited our children, from a distance. The children all wished him a Merry Christmas and asked him some questions. He reminded us to go to bed early on Christmas Eve. Thank you Santa for taking time to visit us at this very busy time for you.

Primary 4 – Christmas Crafts

As you will know, we will not be having our Christmas Fair this year to raise much needed school funds.  However, Primary 4 have been busy making their Christmas crafts ready to bring home on the 10th of December for a small donation.  Many thanks in advance for your continued support.
