Primary 7 weekly update

It was lovely to be back with all our friends again.

We started a new Numeracy topic on volume. We have been learning how to read volume scales on beakers and jugs in millilitres and litres, working out problems with volume and we have begun learning how to calculate the volume of cubes and cuboids in cubic centimetres.

In literacy, we watched a short persuasive animation and tried to work out the message it was showing us. We then looked at the different devices the animator used to persuade us and discussed how effective these were.

In art, we started using the new drawing pencils we got at the end of last term. We learned how to draw a realistic mouth.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Term 4 P.E. Days

Thank you for your support with school uniform and our new approach to P.E. kit.

We would request that on P.E. days children wear to school:

  • white polo shirt/ t-shirt – with school logo or plain or blue school P.E. t-shirt
  • blue sweatshirt/cardigan – with school logo or plain
  • P7 – black sweatshirt/cardigan
  • plain black tracksuit bottoms/ joggers
  • black trainers
  • girls who are wearing a skirt over their leggings can remove their skirt on P.E. days
  • we would recommend that children don’t wear their shirt and tie on their P.E. days

In order to continue with our inclusive ethos and promoting our school identity we would request that children don’t wear branded clothing. We also have nearly new school polo shirts and sweatshirts that can be purchased for a small donation.

On non P.E. days children should wear their normal school uniform (this does not include tracksuit bottoms, leggings – unless with a skirt or jeans).

Santa Visits PUSCPS!

A very exciting and magical afternoon at PUSCPS as Santa visited our children, from a distance. The children all wished him a Merry Christmas and asked him some questions. He reminded us to go to bed early on Christmas Eve. Thank you Santa for taking time to visit us at this very busy time for you.

Be an Author – Book Week Scotland Competition

Last week we set all classes a free writing competition inviting them to create a piece of writing on any theme or in any style for Book Week Scotland.

Our house and vice captains had the difficult job of judging the competition this week.

P1-P4/3 created theirs on paper, and P4-7 uploaded theirs to Teams.

Congratulations to all our fabulous authors!
