Primary 2 have been settling in well to their new class. We have been sharing our ideas on what we think are important rules to have, so that our classroom is a place where we are able to learn and feel happy and safe. Here is the charter we have agreed on.
P5 have discussed and decided what we think should go into our class charter. Then we linked this to the appropriate articles from Children’s Rights. We created our own designs on our hands to complete the charter.
Today Primary 7 were set the challenge of creating a poster to demonstrate how to safely use the pump track.
First of all they used Kahoot to assess their knowledge of bicycle safety.
We discussed what a pump track was and it is different from other bicycle tracks. Then we watched a YouTube video which gave us some tips on how to use it safely and made notes. We also discussed what advice we could give to younger children in our school about the pump track.
They then used their notes to create a pump track safety poster for the children in our school.
Watch this space for their final posters!
We are keen for our pupils to have opportunities to learn about a variety of skills and knowledge that may help encourage and inspire them to consider different options in the future.
During the year there are opportunities for class learning to link with occupations and skills for work. We would like to build a bank of volunteers to approach during the year to come in to talk to the children.
This could be class, group chats or running a workshop, whatever you feel comfortable with. If you would like to volunteer to talk about your job or skills please fill in the form below.
This can be shared with parents, carers and members of the community.
