Nursery Parents & Carers – Online Learning Journals Webinar

It has been great to see so many parent and carer OLJ entries in the iAchieve section.

Tomorrow at 3 pm OLJ are running an online opportunity for parents and carers to learn more about the Online Learning Journals system and ask questions, learn tips and find out about features that they might not be aware of.  The link below can be used to register for the session:

For easier access to your child’s journal, a parent app is now available for iOS and Android.   The app makes it much easier for you to login as you won’t have to go to the website every time you want to check your child’s profile.

Nursery parents- PEEP news

I hope you are continuing to enjoy all this lovely weather we have been having! I  have received this email below from the team at PEEPLE.  Please check out their PEEP app and let us know what you think via email to the school/blog/etc.

Take care and stay safe,                                                                                                                       Mrs Ness

To our amazing parent community,

First of all, we hope that you and your loved ones are staying healthy and safe indoors during this difficult time. We’ve heard from many of you over the last few weeks that you could use some support with keeping your little ones occupied and learning, and taking care of your own wellbeing during this isolation period at home. So we worked with our content partners at Peeple (peeple.org.uk) to create the Home Learning Programme- daily research-based activities that’ll help you keep your little ones occupied and learning, and take care of your own wellbeing.  The programme is now available when you update the Devie app via the App store or Google Play store! We’d love for you to give the programme a try and tell us what you think, and how we can further support you during this time.  Take care, stay safe and indoors, and as always, don’t hesitate to contact me directly if there are ways we can support you better.

Love,                                                                                                                                                    Puja and the Devie Team

World Autism Awareness Day 2020

Happy World Autism Awareness Day!

This week is World Autism Awareness Week! Below is a link to a video entitled ‘What is Autism?’, which you can also find on the Scottish Autism website.

The symbol which is now more commonly associated with autism is a rainbow-coloured infinity symbol. This is to show that the autism spectrum is not linear, and that while some individuals have difficulties in some areas, they are (sometimes exceptionally) talented in others.

We usually celebrate this as a school, but due to the current circumstances, it is a little more difficult. To mark it, I’ve made my own version of the symbol for the autism spectrum, which is now stuck on my living-room window!

If you happen to be celebrating World Autism Awareness Day in any way (e.g. dressing in rainbow colours, posting signs in windows, sharing links/videos), please let us know! You can share with us on Twitter, as part of your child’s learning wall or using Microsoft Teams.

‘Autism is my superpower.’ (a fantastic quote I saw on someone’s t-shirt a few years ago).

Many thanks!

Whole School Challenge – Nursery

Hi Everyone

You may already  have seen this on the  PUSCPS pages but I wanted to share it again as we have some excellent artists in the nursery. The challenge is design a poster to let people to know they should be staying safe at home. I am sure you would all have a million ideas and you can share them on your Learners Journals where we can share them with Miss Burton.

Good Luck!!
