School Inspection from Education Scotland
We have received notification of inspection from Education Scotland. Inspections are important events in the life of a school, they are infrequent but vital to ensuring schools are meeting the needs of learners; PUSCPS was last inspected in 2006.  The inspection will begin the week of 13 November.
To ensure that we can focus on the process, we will unfortunately need to postpone the parent appointments by two weeks (until 29 and 30 November), and revert back to the original date for the P7 assembly (10 November). We appreciate that this is inconvenient for working families and would not take this step unless it was absolutely unavoidable.Â
As part of the inspection, Inspectors gather the views of stakeholders via an online survey. Â The surveys are available from the following links until 6 November:
PARENTS/CARERS OF PRIMARY PUPILS: Â https://forms.education.gov.scot/s/5QN0Y/
PARENTS/CARERS OF NURSERY PUPILS: https://forms.education.gov.scot/s/AN5RM/
The November Newsletter has additional information and has been emailed home. Â It can also be downloaded, or read by visiting the NL page of the blog – click here.
Delay
I have also emailed to inform you that there has been a delay in the date of my leaving PUSCPS and Sarah Burton taking over as acting HT. Â This will still go ahead, but due to the needs of the larger council service it has been delayed until the 24 November. Â We apologise for the confusion but I am pleased to have another few weeks working with such a great and supportive group of pupils, parent body and staff team.
Many thanks,

HT Message
I am writing to inform you that I have accepted the post of acting Head Teacher at East Calder Primary School. This is a seconded position for 18 months and I will be taking up the post following the October break.
My acting replacement will be appointed as soon as possible and I will keep you informed of any developments.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for your kindness and support over the past three years, it has been a privilege to have worked with such dedicated, warm and caring pupils, families and staff and I know that the school is in a good place to continue its learning journey.
As I mentioned, this is a seconded position and therefore there is every possibility that I may return to PUSCPS in the future.
Many thanks and warm regards,
Steven Eagleson
Headteacher

Club Wild Veg Sale
We hope you’ve noticed how amazingly the vegetables in our school garden have grown. Â they are all ready to be harvested and club Wild with Ms Young and Sarah-Jane will get picking this week.
Next Monday (2nd October) the Club Wild pupils will be at the gate selling the produce for their group funds. Â Please stop and have a look, chat to the kids about the veg and buy some delicious home (or rather school)-grown veg for supper.
