Broxburn Academy have decided to cancel the Sports Day for P7s on Friday 31st May due to the weather. Our P7 children should attend PUSCPS as normal on Friday and wear school uniform.

P7 Transition to Broxburn Academy is on Wednesday 29th, Thursday 30th  and Friday 31st May (next week).

Children should make their own way to and from the Academy on Wed and Thursday via public transport (tickets will be issued on Monday). Children who will not be attending Broxburn Academy should attend school as normal and a work experience timetable has been set up for them. School uniform should be worn on Wednesday and Thursday.

All P7s will attend the Broxburn Academy sports event on Friday 31st. They should attend PUSCPS as normal where a bus will be provided for them. The children should wear sportswear and their hoodies on this day, and bring a water bottle.

Welcome to Pumpherston & Uphall Station Primary School, we look forward to welcoming you and your child to our PUSCPS family. This term we have organised events to ensure a smooth transition into Primary 1, the details of which are below.

Learning together:

We would like to welcome your child along to meet their primary 1 peers and join in with some learning in the Primary classroom and playground. These sessions give your child the opportunity to experience what learning in Primary 1 will look like, meet other children and staff in the school. Please drop your child off at the office at the dates and times below and your child’s Primary 6 buddy will meet them and take them along to the classroom/ playground.

• Thursday 6^th June at 12:45pm-1:45pm (playground and class)
• Thursday 13^th June at 12:45pm-1:45pm (playground and class)

P1 Induction Evening – Meet the Teacher (for parents):

On Tuesday 4^th June at 6pm we would like to invite parents/ carers along to find out about what learning and routines are like in P1. You will also receive all your enrolment forms at this time and have a chance to visit the P1 classrooms. If you are unable to attend the induction evening, the PowerPoints will be available on our school blog and you can collect your induction pack and forms from the office.

Meet the Teacher (for pupils) and Dine Together:

On Tuesday 11^th June at 11:00-12pm we invite all our pre-school children to meet their new teacher and class. During this time, parents/ carers are invited to stay for tea and coffee and get to know the other P1 parents.

Following this you will have the opportunity to sample a school lunch with your child (from 12:00pm-12:30pm). A lunch order form is included with your letter, please return to school by 4^th June with the money required for an adult lunch. You can also hand these forms in on the induction evening.

It’s that time of year when our P7 children find out their high school destinations and hopefully you have received or will be receiving your letter shortly.

This term our Primary 7 children are taking part in an interdisciplinary learning project that will support them with transition to high school. This project will include five workshop visits to Broxburn Academy on Fridays which all pupils will attend (regardless of their destination high school). The dates and information about the sessions are included in the attached letter below.

A bus will collect the children from PUSCPS at 9am and they will return in time for the end of the school day, at 12:25pm. An EE2 form will be sent home, please complete by Wednesday 1^st May.

Children who are not attending our catchment school of Broxburn Academy will receive a letter from their school notifying of their transition days or please contact their school office for further information.
