Using IDL Literacy at Home

Some of our children have been using an online computer programme called IDL Literacy in school.

If your child has an IDL Literacy login this programme can be easily accessed from home.  It is recommended, where possible, that they use it for around a minimum of 1 hour per week or 10-20 minutes per day.

Please find attached information about  IDL Literacy and how your child can access their account from home, on a variety of devices. Parents’ Guide to IDL for Blog   Ways to Access IDL 2

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or if your child needs a reminder of their login details.

We had a great morning!

P4/3 Christmas/Winter Celebration

Good Morning,

In P4/3 this week we have been celebrating Christmas and the winter season. On Wednesday the children chose to create a winter or Christmas themed craft to take home. They painted 4 lollipop sticks in the style of their choice and stuck them together in the shape of a snowflake. On Thursday we wore our Christmas jumpers and had Christmas lunch, the steak pie was especially good. On Friday morning we enjoyed watching The Grinch on Netflix while eating some yummy popcorn.

We all hope everyone enjoys the holidays and comes back to school refreshed.

Christmas Crafts in P6

The Christmas cheer has been well and truly spread in p6 over the last week. On Wednesday, the children all dressed up sharp and got their (competitive) dancing shoes on for their disco. They played corners, musical statues and bumps before having a snack and Christmas video.

Today, each pupil painted a beautiful Christmas decoration for their home. Look how wonderful they are! Some even matched our Christmas jumpers 🙂 I was tempted to take them all home, but I had to resist…

Tomorrow, we will spend our morning getting into the festive spirits as the countdown for Santa’s visit begins (2 weeks?!) by watching a wonderful Christmas film with some obligatory popcorn

Stay safe

Primary 1 Learning

Primary 1 have learning about toys. We have been talking about toys we enjoy playing with today and what some toys were like in the past. Everyone has been enjoying playing with some examples of older toys such as wooden cards and yo-yos at play and learn time.  Mrs Hardie also brought some toys that she used to play with as a little girl for us to see.

On Friday we received a letter from Santa asking us to use our imagination to design a new toy that children around the world would enjoy playing with. We began drawing our designs and adding labels to explain how they work. We are going to finish them this week and present them to our classmates before sending them off to Santa!

The class have also been busy working on Christmas arts and crafts. We made our own Christmas tree pictures using a fingerprint technique and a snowy day picture using white paint and glitter.  Despite not being able to have our Christmas Fair this year, we have also created a special Christmas craft to bring home on Thursday.
