Book Week at Nursery

During book week at nursery we have been listening to stories that our adults enjoy.  Mrs Hamill read “The Elves and the Shoemaker”,  this was a story she enjoyed when she was a little girl.  Miss Young picked “The Bears and the Fireworks” from the nursery library as a book she enjoys.  Mrs Arthur chose a book from the nursery  library that  she has loved telling over the years to lots of children called “Little Blue Car” and Mrs Montgomery read “Where the Wild Things Are”. This was a book her children enjoyed when they were young. Over the week we talked about our favorite stories and we decided that the “GRUFFALO” was one of our most favorite books.

We enjoy reading stories everyday at nursery.

Reading from an early age helps children with literacy skill all the way through school. A good idea is to read a story at bedtime as part of the children’s bedtime routine.
