When I was out for a walk at the weekend, I saw some children had built a bridge over a stream and it reminded me of the story “The Three Billy Goats Gruff” where the bridge is a very important part in the story. Here is a link to a video of the story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiy3a1v9Q2E
I would like you to design and build your own bridge using items you may have at home, either indoors or outdoors. Think about making sure no one falls off the bridge when in use. Share your ideas and thinking with someone at home, an adult or older sibling. Are you going to draw a plan first? What do you think you could use to build the bridge? What shape will it be? What length does it need to be? Who is this bridge for: a toy, an animal, a vehicle, or you?! It could even be an apple, does your bridge hold the weight of an apple?
Take a picture of your plan/bridge and share how you managed to design and build your bridge.
Here is a link to one of our local famous bridge and you can find out more information about how it was built: https://www.theforthbridges.org/visit/go-forth-digital-learning-resources/
