Wee Summer Sing is a completely free project for children aged 5–8.
Every Monday to Thursday from 1–26 June we will post a song or rhyme with an accompanying game. On Friday of each week, we will have a live session where we will sing all our favourites together.
Over the course of the project the children will learn new songs, develop musical skills and gain confidence.
This is a Youth Music Initiative funded project from NYCOS, Scotland’s youth singing organisation.

Good Morning P.4! I hope you’ve been enjoying all this lovely sunshine?
This week we’re going to look at a different type of writing task using the website Pobble365, which has some fascinating images to get our imaginations going!
Firstly, go to the website: https://www.pobble365.com/colours-of-the-ocean/
There’s a different image every day, along with various activities. Use the right and left arrows to scroll through the different pictures. Choose either the Colours of the Ocean (May 31st), or the Wild Horses (June 1st) picture. Then click the down arrow to go to the activities.
Tasks:
Question Time – find an adult or older sibling to discuss the questions. No writing necessary for this task, it’s just to get you thinking.
Sentence Challenge – Follow the instructions for the task, writing your answers down on a piece of paper or in a jotter.
Sick Sentence – Read the sentence. You’ll notice the the nouns don’t have adjectives, and the verbs don’t have adverbs. Rewrite the sentence and up-level it by adding an adjective for each noun, and an adverb for each verb.
Happy writing!

We hope you have all managed to enjoy some of the nice weather! Fingers crossed it continues.
Please ensure you use the supporting materials to help you, as well as having access to them here you can find them on Teams (P5 2019-20 > General channel > Files > Weekly Resources > 1st June).
Priority tasks should be uploaded into the appropriate Assignment.
Any additional work should be uploaded into your own ‘Personal Folder’ (P5 2019-20 > General channel > Files > Personal Folders).

Writing: Imaginative
Part 1: This has been extended to allow you more time to write, should you require it. The middle section of your story is now due in by Friday 5th June at the latest.
Use the Core Targets to help you.
Watch this video to help you recap metaphors and similes.
You will need your storyboard planning sheet from last week, and any other planning tools you have used (e.g. Description Bubble, Show don’t Tell etc.)
This week we want you to write up the middle section of your story. Remember this is usually the longest part of any story and is where the action/events take place. Use interesting adjectives and detailed descriptions to bring your story to life. We can’t wait to read them!
Part 2: Due Friday 11th June
Begin to plan out the final/ending of your story. You can use a storyboard, mind map or any other planning tool you feel suits your needs. This should only be started once the middle section of your story is complete.

Part 3: Due Friday 11th June
If you wish, you may create illustrations to go with your story.
Writing: Instructions (Due Friday 11th June)
We’ve loved seeing the recipes so far! We’ve had healthy pizzas, best chicken ramen, vanilla cake & millionaire’s shortbread – yummy!
Use the Procedure Targets to help you.
We would like you to write a set of instructions detailing how to make a favourite recipe. This can be a recipe for a cake, smoothie, pie, salad… anything you like! Please remember to include a title (e.g. Amy’s Awesome American Pancakes or The Best Steak Pie!), a list of ingredients (including quantities e.g. 500g of flour), a list of equipment and feel free to include some photos of the process/end product!
Please submit these by Friday 11th June into your Personal Folder on Teams, by emailing it to your teacher, or handing it in to the school office.
You can find some inspiration by visiting and exploring our P5 Kitchen! Click on objects around the room to be taken to different websites. Feel free to use one of the recipe templates or create your own.

It’s going to be another hot one today I think! ☀️. Here is an ice lolly recipe to keep you both cool and healthy. If you don’t have ice lolly moulds you can always use plastic cups instead.
Ingredients
60g frozen summer fruits
150g low-fat natural yogurt
1 tbsp clear honey
Method
1. Let the frozen summer berries soften slightly, then tip them into a small bowl. Add the natural yogurt and the honey and stir until well combined.
2. Divide the yogurt mixture between 4 lolly moulds and freeze for 4 hours until solid.

Hello Primary 2! Happy Friday😊!
Can this weather get any lovelier?😎🌞The birds will be putting on their sunglasses at this rate!🐦🕶
