Primary 4 taught British Sign Language by P7

Today we were so happy to be taught by P7 girls, Paige and Alisha. They taught us how to do British Sign Language to the song “This Is Me”.

The link to the video we used is https://youtu.be/5jNwvJ-vZU0

Chloe said, ” It was really good to do”

Amirah said, “It was amazing!”

Emily said, “I didn’t know any sign language until today”

Rosie said, “It was my first time doing sign language and I enjoyed it”

Poppy said, “It was cool to be able to sing in sign language!”

P4 mission to Mars

Primary 4 are on a mission to Mars. We have been exploring our solar system and undertaking some serious scientific research to make sure that we stay safe. It is a dangerous mission so we have been writing to astronaut Tim Peake to reassure him that we are prepared for the severe storms on Mars and the high levels of radiation. We have also had to consider the orbits of Earth and Mars to make our journey time take the minimum 150 days. Pupils have been interviewing for crew to join the mission and we are meeting together soon to discuss what we need to pack. This is Primary 4’s most daring mission so far and we will be in touch soon… possibly from the red planet. Over and out.

Fundraiser – Parent’s night

Through the charity Canine Concern Scotland, we were able to work with Bill Macdonald and his dog Veda. Veda is a well-trained, friendly dog who has been coming to Dedridge to listen to boys and girls read. This has been to help grow children’s confidence in reading out loud. So we can help support Canine Concern I have organised to fundraise at parent’s night. There will be a reading area in the dining hall where children can relax on a bean bag and read. There will also be dog treat bags on sale, some free activities and games at a small cost.  Please help to support our school and Canine Scotland by bringing a small donation along with you.

Thank you,

Louise Sellar
