Parent and Child Bootcamp

Thank you to all the parents who camp down and took part in our morning parent and child bootcamp. Great fun and hard work! It is great for our young people to see that active and health lifestyle should continue into their adulthood and that their parents and teachers value this in themselves. Fantastic end to Health Week!!

Parent and Child Bootcamp

Friday morning 8.15-8.45am we will be having a parent and child bootcamp outside on the school field before the start of the day. This will be as difficult as people choose to make it and with the main focus of allowing parents the opportunity to bond with their children and reinforce the value of leading a healthy life into later life.

Dedridge Tough Mudder

On Friday 23rd June we are having a sponsored Dedridge Tough Mudder. Using the sponsor form with this letter each child is asked to make a minimum donation/sponsorship of £2 for the run. The funds raised go towards supporting the PE and Sport curriculum in the school. Please return this form during health week and by Friday 23rd June with all sponsor money.

Fun down at the farm

The pupils, parents and staff of Glenvue Nursery had a fantastic day out at Mill Farm, the sun was shining and everyone was happy. In the morning the children enjoyed zipping through the Adventure Zone play area, everyone then took a well deserved rest enjoying a picnic in the sun. After lunch the children became explorers using maps to explore Mill Farm to try and find the woodland sledges and zip wire. Everyone was excited to see all the animals, especially the little lambs and of course Smokey the pig!

Primary 3 Health Week June 2017

Primary 3 pupils are having a fantastic time during their first two days of Health Week.  They are enthusiastic, happy and excited as they move from one event to another.  The day started on Monday with Astro Gymnastics followed by Synergy Fit and Flex and finished with football.  Tuesday began with Micro-fitness on the Inflatable Assault Course followed by Handball.  Later that afternoon Pupils learned new Dance moves, working with partners to create their own Dance.  The last session of the day was Karate led by a member of our staff.

This is fun!

I need a good run at this.

This is a great balancing act.

More partner balancing. We are so proud of ourselves.

This planking is so challenging but good for my core muscles.

Could this be the start of a football career?

Handball is so much fun.

Great team work.

Next Step Dance is brilliant.

Dancing for fitness to music makes us happy.

We’re learning some tricky punch moves.

I know how to protect myself from a punch. I can block it.

It’s great using a punch bag.

Primary 1 – The Very Hungry Caterpillar

We really enjoyed our trip to see the show ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ at Howden Park Centre.

We were very excited to go on the bus to Howden and all sat really well on the bus and noticed lots of places we knew on the way.

When we got to Howden we sat well in the audience ready for the show to start. It was really good with lots of great puppets!

Back at school, we have been writing all about our trip in our jotters.

Here are some pictures of the show. Can you tell which part of the story it is?
