Scotland Learns – Parents and Carers

In these uncertain times, parents, carers and families are under a lot of pressure, especially in supporting children to continue to learn. No-one expects parents and carers to take the place of teachers.

This weekly newsletter has ideas, hints and tips for parents and carers, including activities that children can do on their own at home or families can do together.

Ascension Thursday

This week we celebrate Ascension Thursday.

Why not join Fr Sebastian when he is celebrating Mass on this important feast day. He has been celebrating Mass each day at 10.00 am on Facebook. Say hello on the chat, I am sure he will be delighted to know that you are there!

Ascension is a Christian holiday. The word “ascension” means “going up”. According to the story told in the Bible, Jesus ascended (went up) to heaven with his apostles. The holiday is celebrated forty days after his resurrection. The story tells that Jesus’ body went to heaven, and that in heaven he sits at the right-hand side of God the Father.

 

Primary 3 Online Tasks

Good morning primary 3.

I have set a spelling task on sumdog and Numbers to 100 task.

On education city the tasks are:

  • Numbers to 100
  • Science – Food groups
  • Literacy – Main Idea
  • Writing – Description

There are also some tasks that were set on the blog yesterday.

Please remember these you do not have to complete all tasks set.

I hope you have been enjoying your weekly tasks set yesterday!

On Education City today there is a science task called ‘Changing Seasons’. Watch the Learn It video for lots of key information and then complete the activity.
