Primary 4/5 would like to share their reindeer portraits with you. The children listened very carefully to Mrs Cree’s instructions and they were all very pleased with the end result.
A Minion Reasons to Enjoy Christmas
Primary 5 have been busy with lots of Christmas activities over the past week. We have been discussing what Christmas is about and what it means to us. Through our discussion we thought about the importance of Christmas and what we most enjoy about it. We came up with lots of lovely ideas and wanted to share them.
The pupils then designed their own minion (Christmas themed of course!!) and then we created a display, which we will be adding to.
We hope you enjoy having a look at them as much as we enjoyed making our display

P 1/2 Decorating the tree.

My Week in P7
Maths
This week in maths I have been learning about different types of charts. I think I could learn a bit more about them though. I learned about pie charts and graphs and how to solve problems to do with graphs.
Literacy
This week in literacy we were looking at autobiography and biography texts. We looked at parts of Roald Dahl’s life story from his autobiography ‘Boy’ . To finish the topic off we wrote our very own autobiography about our experiences at the St. Joseph’s Christmas show this year called Cinderella, Rockerfella.
The show
Another thing that we did this week was performed our Christmas show Cinderella, Rockerfella. It was a huge success and all the rehearsals paid off. I was part of the talent act and I played violin.
It has been a great week!

Oh Help, oh no, it’s a Gruffalo!!!
The children in primary 1 have enjoyed reading Julia Donaldson stories this term and making a fantastic Gruffalo display. Through these stories the children have learned about the pattern and rhyme of stories and how to develop a character. The children made up a new character for the book Room on the Broom. We learned about the role of an illustrator and an author and developed our love of reading by setting up a quiet reading tent in our classroom which the children named ‘the Julia Donaldson tent’!!! The children enjoyed making (and tasting) Gruffalo Crumble (apple crumble) and then we made our own recipe book using functional writing and sequencing skills.

The Magic Castle
Primary 6W have worked very hard on their homework projects creating different types of castles. They also made up fact files and power points about Concentric, Stone Keep and Motte and Bailey Castles. They then presented them to the rest of the class.
We can’t wait to start the Magic Castle topic in January!
Christmas
The costumes are ready, the stage is set………could this be the best Nativity play yet?
The children in Primary 1, 1/2, 2 and 3 have been working so hard to produce this year’s Nativity Play, ‘Mend the Manger’.
We are so proud of all our little ‘shining stars’ in St Joseph’s Primary!
Cinderella Rockerfella
We are enjoying practising for our panto. We know you will all be completely blown away with the standard of acting, singing and dancing. We are a very talented school.
