To finish our Romans theme this term, P3 and P4/3 had a Roman scavenger hunt. In groups of three, pupils were given a question sheet and they had to match the question with information hidden in the classrooms and corridor. They then had to answer the questions. All pupils enjoyed finding the hidden clues and in addition to finding out more about what Romans brought to Britain, they were able to improve their reading skills and reading for information.
P3 and P4/3 were having a debate yesterday. They were split into two teams. One team had to be the Iceni tribe, whose leader was Queen Boudicca. The other team were from the Atrebates tribe. The Iceni were a Celtic tribe who hated Rome and the Atrebates were a Celtic tribe who wanted Roman things in Brittania. Each side had to think about the pros and cons and argue either for Roman or Celtic Britain. There were some excellent points made by both sides and it was clear that everyone has learned a lot about Romans and Roman Britain.
