Playground re-surfacing

From Wednesday 28th January the Margaret Avenue entrance to school will be closed due to the above work.  The following arrangements will be in place :

  • Breakfast Club children will come in via the front entrance as the side doors to the hall will be closed off.
  • Children who normally come in the Margaret Avenue gate will need to walk along Margaret Avenue / Marina Road and then either come in the Community wing path and then up the steps and round the corner to the P-1 entrance OR use the Main Gate on Elizabeth Drive.

This work on the rear playground will last until approximately Friday 6th February.  After this work will begin on the front playground and other arrangements will be in place.  I will inform you of arrangements for this part of the work when it is planned.

Further updates will happen via Groupcall and the blog.

A visit from Mrs Kerwin

IMG_3685IMG_3700IMG_3701 - CopyIMG_3707IMG_3708IMG_3709IMG_3710IMG_3711 The pupils of P5 were delighted to have a visit from Mrs Kerwin, the Chairperson of the Bathgate Cran-Gevrier Twinning Association. Mrs Kerwin provided lots of information about the twinning organisation and pupils enjoyed looking at brochures from Cran-Gevrier.  The following week, they enjoyed some tasty French food as part of their French lesson. Bon Appetit!

Romans

Primary 3 have just started their new topic on the Romans.  They have looked at how Rome got its name through the story of Romulus and Remus.  They have also found out that Rome is built on seven hills.  They created paper mache models of the seven hills and the River Tiber and painted them.  They think they look very effective.

P1-3 free school meals

What a great chance in January – save some money !

Since we came back after Christmas all P1-3 children have been entitled to free school meals.

This amount really adds up – so take the chance to save some money.

The menu for meals can be found at the right hand side  – information – then click on the link to the menu.

P4’s bird’s eye view snowmen

In the run up to Christmas we have been doing lots of Christmas themed rt activities.  One of the activities was using shapes and texture to create birds-eye view snowmen.  We used concentric circles and smudged pastel to make it look like we were looking at the snowmen from above.  The end result was really effective!

West Lothian Foodbank Collection

Thank you so much for all the donations today and yesterday.  We are thrilled with the amount.

Thanks also to those who offered to deliver the items to the Foodbank – it was very generous.

However we have had to leave it until it is collected here on Tuesday – as there will be no-one in the collection point to accept it.

As always the community of Boghall ‘dig deep’ to help others !   Well done and thanks.
