1st star – We enjoyed writing our Scottish poems in our writing jotters. We sounded out each word to help us write!
2nd star – We enjoyed learning about the 3 jobs of addition and have been working really hard in class to understand how to add.
Wish – Next week we would like to get even better at saying our Scottish poems.
All pupils from P5, 6 and 7 take part in ‘Challenge Friday’. The aim of challenge Friday is to develop skills for life such as collaboration, problem solving and communication.
This week’s challenge ‘How high can you go?’ was to build the tallest tower using only 5 sheets of paper and a selection of sticking materials. The tower had to stand on its own.
A team from Primary 7 won this week’s challenge with a tower that measured Im 11cm (and 6mm). In second place was a team from Miss Armstrong’s class with 1m 4cm, in third place was a team from Mrs Thacker’s class which measured 1m 4mm and in last place was a team from Mrs Williamson’s class which measured 85cm.
Well done to all the teams who managed to get the tower to stand long enough to be measured! Here are a few snapshots. 
What a busy week in Primary 5! We have chosen our two favorite things from this week and also came up with a wish for next week.
Star 1 – We have loved learning the songs for our school show – The Lion King. We are working hard to make this our best show ever.
Star 2 – We really enjoyed taking part in a research challenge where we worked in pairs to research a Scottish landmark – such as Loch Ness. We found out some amazing facts.
Wish – We would like to cook some traditional Scottish food next week in class if its possible.
* We enjoyed designing tartans for Scottish art.
* We liked learning to be quicker at recalling our times tables facts.
Wish We are looking forward to working with Mr Boutoubane.
* For working really well as a team during our first rehearsal for our show.
* Organising the Burns Supper
WISH- To keep up the enthusiasm and commitment to the school show rehearsals.
* We liked doing written subtraction in maths.
* We enjoyed challenge Friday this week, trying to build the tallest paper tower.
! We want to play football next week.
* Star 1: We have really enjoyed earning class Dojo points for good work and super behaviour this week.
* Star 2: We loved P6/5’s assembly about New Year and especially enjoyed holding hands when we sang Auld Lang Syne.
Wish: We wish we could get more toys and surprises in our class next week.
1st Star: We started to learn about the Ancient Egyptians.
2nd Star: We have been learning how to say the days of the week and months in French.
Wish: We would like to practice our handball skills in PE.
1st star – We loved Philosophy! We all sat in a circle and discussed our opinions on the following questions – ‘Can you pay for a bunch of bananas with a bunch of bananas?’ , ‘If you paint over a window, is it still a window?’ and ‘Are you any less alive when you’re asleep?’. It was very interesting listening to everyone’s opinions!
2nd star – We all got a headteacher award for having a great start to the school show! We managed to sing 3 songs and practised 6 scenes!
wish – to go out for mile a day more often!
